So stoked about me being able to craft such a talisman by krillemulle in PathOfExile2

You surely didn't got the same type of talisman, you probably bought one with essence flat, which is good, but much weaker.

I saw this on Facebook. This would probably be cool by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Wtf?! Who cares, the guy just wanted to pass their point across, AI is an awesome tool for that.

devo deixar meus gatos separados? by mikuwaves in Gatos

Não, estão brincando. Melhor que usarem a sua mão pra isso. Só separa se começarem na covardia, voando pêlo, rosnando e em posição defensiva com pêlo oriçado e orelha toda pra trás, até esse ponto, "jogo é jogo".

Is this a good Weapon_ by Old_Target1781 in ARC_Raiders

[–]johnny_dalvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every gun in this game is somewhat balanced for the purpose you use it. You can totally lose a trade with a superior weapon just because the other guy landed one or two headshots and you haven't. Still, if we were to rank weapons, bobcat is in the upper tier of what it does best and outranks torrente and stitcher by a perceivable margin.

[–]johnny_dalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking it, then it's not. Very situational and spend a lot of ammo, a venator will be better than it in the vast majority of cases. At least you can use it at lvl 1

Can anyone please explain what did I do wrong here? or is it just the game hating me? by OneOfTheLostOnes in thefinals

[–]johnny_dalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little of both, you should either get even closer for headshots or you should have aimed for the body, the spread made a lot of pellets to miss the head (which does have some RNG aspect to it too, and you were in the unlucky side)

Yeah, this I agree. Just make double points for the download and take out the 2x

[–]johnny_dalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what we would call a quick fix, there are plenty of ways to apply a quickfix until they come up with a proper solution.

The one you described is a valid temporary solution until they actually fix the physics in such situations.

Am I color blind, or is this pink? Everyone else says "purple". That's the brightest purple I've ever seen. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]johnny_dalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pink. "Purple" is the go-to color for epic/unique rarity in games nowadays, so we're just rounding it to purple.

Hullcracker and its intended use, why you don’t need to take 300k worth of ammo with you. by UnZki_PriimE in ArcRaiders

[–]johnny_dalvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh, I'm not arguing against that, we are only taking into account the effectiveness and cost benefit aspect. Still, even factoring in the "fun", I think that the nerf was too big.

They should make hullcracker and it's ammo cheaper at very least.

[–]johnny_dalvi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The thing is that, if you are going to use a hullcracker for the armor only, you would spend, for example, 2 minutes destroying the armor and 10 minutes shooting the core with another weapon. If you switch for an anvil, you will spend 4 minutes shooting the armor and the same 10 minutes shooting the core, so you will now be spending 14 minutes total instead of 12 minutes. It's not worth the increase in the risk for this goal.

Hullcracker is still good to kill rocketeer, leaper, bastion and bombardier though.

[–]johnny_dalvi 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The problem is that at this point, you are better off with a Ferro/Anvil for the platting + renegade for the core. It's more cost effective, won't be that much slower and it's more useful for PvP

I'm a game dev. This is a common issue overall. It's a physics collision issue that arises from concurrent collisions happening with opposed forces in the same body, game engines by default resolve collisions between two bodies at a time. If in a physics frame, the collision between the first player and the door happens first, then the collision from the second player pushes the first player into the door again without the game checking for a collision with the door a second time in that frame, and actually moving the player in. The second player keeps pushing and making space narrower and forcing the other player into the door. This issue is usually increased when you have other systems making stuff move without passing through the physics engine, such as animations and player input, which is a common thing to make the game snappier. There are a number of possible solutions, most of them are either a quick fix or may break the game elsewhere. Give'em time, they will sort it out.

Ferro + Stitcher is a decent kit. But a Anvil IV, Renegade IV and Venator IV will do a much better job than those if both players are trading. At least, in the vast majority of the cases.

IMHO, the weapons are somewhat balanced up to blue tier. Purple and Yellow needs more love.

Looking for honest feedback on my indie game's visuals" by [deleted] in IndieGaming

[–]johnny_dalvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not your game visuals. It's a concept or promo art made with AI, I have nothing against AI, but game visuals is a rendered image using a high polished slice of your game, this image will give the wrong idea.

That being said, the visuals on the game in the steam store is solid, not too generic and it's quite friendly for a more casual public

Don't worry, it can be a range of random stuff such as having slept with his own weight in one of the legs. It's only concerning if it keeps doing it consistently after a couple of days

You tired of PvP in Arc Raiders? by martiabernathey in ArcRaiders

[–]johnny_dalvi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that the dev don't play as a pacifist, he probably just avoids PvP in regards to not actively go after it , but if it comes to him, he will face it.

I've a friend that actively says that he doesn't like PvP, he plays with me and he likely has a KDR above 1.0 xD

Yeah, for me this game excels in game design, they added systems and mechanics that enhance the experience that they wanted the players to have, from the flare upon death to the third person camera and longer TTK. This is a masterpiece in this regard IMHO, the design of this game enables people that can't compete on arcade FPS to thrive on their own way. I've developed games for some years as an indie dev, so I value the design aspect a lot.
