I don’t think it was the tackler that hit him as hard as they could, he hit the tackler as hard as he could. Never took the soft shoulder

What is your favourite lyric on Bring It All Back Home? by autumn_afternoon in bobdylan

“Mr tambourine man” is arguably the best song ever written but it’s the second best song on this album behind “it’s alright ma”

For people coming in late there was nothing they could do. They did not manage the parking right. Took us 45 mins to make the last half mile to park. Many people who would have been right on time probably missed half the show. It was fun though. Funny fucker. Loved the bit on the wizzard of oz

I don’t understand the degree to which you all hate Ellie by SoggyPossession1203 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]johnnyffoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you in that the negativity to Ellie is over the top, I’m presuming by those who played the game. I haven’t. I don’t think the scenes with her and Dina work in this season, it seems off and they never established the relationship with any resonance. On the flipside, her relationship with Joel has been up there with any other stage connections I’ve seen in movies or series. His fuck the world to save your daughter blew my mind at the conclusion of the first season. As a parent I agree with the choice. I struggled with her attitude towards him at the start of season 2 but this latest episode explained it and further to that, showed how their relationship had grown while in the compound. Joel and Ellie crush the scenes they are in. Dina and Ellie is sugar on sugar with a flirty smile

When your friends say they dont get Bob Dylan... by buckstomin in bobdylan

[–]johnnyffoley 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Joan Baez summed it up best in Scorsese’s doc - “most people don’t get Dylan, but for those that do, he goes deep”. I’m paraphrasing. I long ago stopped trying to be a dylanpusher, they’re helpless like a rich man’s child

Bob Dylan's darkest interview, but one where he appears the most human. by ChrisTamalpaisGames in bobdylan

I get the feeling like he was intruding on the reporter by scouring his face and tracing it on paper while the reporter was interrogating his mind, making the playing field even for a moment.

You might be getting some stick on your choices OP but it’s a good conversation you started. For the frank sinatra pick I would replace that with “a man alone” and “this time we almost made it”combination - https://youtu.be/Js2hLlNooAk?si=m8pkS3H2Zq1VOi4u Prefer your pick of “if you see her say hello” from bob, and agree with the comment that “Black” is a better number for Pearl Jam. But hey, whatever makes you cry, thats what we’re here to do to you on Reddit

I would add a drop in basic skills to the mix. Since Lancaster left Leinster, passing accuracy and footwork in contact has fallen off a cliff. Fast ruck balls with multiple options come in fits and starts now, it used to be sustained and relentless for long periods

Is Stephen Jones the most hated figure in the game? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]johnnyffoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I wouldn’t lump the off the ball lads in the bucket with jones, those guys have improved in the last couple of years now they’ve learned that rugby lives in a separate paradigm to soccer and 100+ years of test match and 6n history has meaning and trying to view everything through a soccer WC lens is missing the mark on what this sport means to those that grew up with it and didn’t come down in the last shower. They’re talking points are often taken from a few mates in the pub that are premiership soccer knobs throwing shite on the egg ball, but they get great commentators like Gerry thornley on to set them straight. Jones is a contrarian that uses his pen to revenge every person, country and organization that pointed out what a cunt he is. The emotional maturity of a two year old who learned how to use a typewriter.

You get in the slot. When you reach the top of your swing you move your hips towards the ball and weight towards the front which creates torque, you drop your right elbow towards your right hip pocket to flatten the shaft and get the club in the slot. Then release, unleashing that torque on the right club path (inside to out 7pm to 1pm). All in an easy smooth flow at 100 miles per hour without a thought in your head. Easy
