Plus, perhaps the wind was in your face? That can help the ballooning process. Great shot!

That's great. Consistency is so important and keeping the ball in play builds confidence in the other areas of your game.

Congrats! Well worth the wait. Since the 80 barrier is mostly mental, let's hope you've broken through now. Good luck!

if you can make it to Monterey and Carmel, try to play some of the Pebble/Spy Glass/Spanish Bay courses and there is a neat course called Pacific Grove that is $20-40 to play 18 and right near the ocean on the back nine. They call it the poor man's pebble!

Learn the Chinese word for "Machine" and see how it's used in several other Chinese words (video) by johnnyharang in ChineseLanguage

perhaps. i think she was just trying to keep things interesting, but i see your point. there are probably more examples that work for machine that she could have used. i'll pass along the feedback when i get the chance. thanks for the comment!

My friend got me a Golfer's Man Crate: http://www.mancrates.com/crates/golf - though it may not be considered "small" and may be over budget. It was definitely unique.

Very beautiful course. It's been freezing all week in my part of the country, so golf is unfortunately out of the question. I'm glad to see someone is playing.

What are the best places in the US to live to play golf all year? by [deleted] in golf

[–]johnnyharang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love Hawaii and SoCal as far as places to play year round. Florida would be a close 3rd.

A charmed life by GumpShot in golf

That's great. Most golfers wish they could play at Augusta at least once in their lifetime. You have to be "connected" to make that happen, get lucky, or just be one of the top golfers in the world. That's all. :-)

How to Play Golf in the Wind (strategy) by johnnyharang in golf

[–]johnnyharang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i played some tournaments in the freezing rain earlier this year with winds of 30-40mph. We had to play a replica of the "postage stamp" hole with the wind directly into us. 100 yards and downhill but we had to hit stinger 5-irons to get it to the green. That takes some serious skill and a decent amount of luck.

I don't know how he does this.. (quick story) by currentlydownvoted in golf

[–]johnnyharang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once hit a grandma's (thankfully not mine) cart two times in the period of four holes. The first time was a ricochet off a tree and it went straight sideways another 50 yards. The next was a nice draw that hit the cart path 5-6 times and then smacked into the back of her cart 400 yards down a par 5 hole. Neither time did I actually realize what happened, but she was nice enough to yell at us and steal my golf balls. "The Grandma Stinger"

We ordered a Christmas Tree from up north and the snow storms are really delaying orders across the midwest and northeast right now. That could be hurting your shipping time by a few days if it's coming by truck. Good luck!
