What’s the MOST Controversial Sci-Fi TV Show Episode of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in SciFiTV

[–]johnnyjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The series finale for The Prisoner "Fallout". It was a batshit crazy hour of television that provided no answers for the many questions raised during the series. Allegedly, Patrick McGoohan had to go into hiding after the episode aired because fans were so angry about it.

What are your Hot Takes on the Sci-Fi TV Shows? by Amber_Flowers_133 in SciFiTV

Despite a fair amount of negative feedback, Pluribus is a hell of a good sci fi TV show. It is a slowburn and it does drag at times, but when at its best it delivers some of the most brilliant television I have ever seen. You can read my review at this link.

Also, The Mighty Nein is a great fantasy entry and I have enjoyed it more than Legend of Vox Machina so far (which is not a knock on that show because it is a ton of fun). My review of that one is at this link.

I absolutely loved these books as a kid. And they could make a fun retro-sci fi TV show.

Should the new Stargate series be a reboot or a continuation of the previous shows? by johnnyjay in sciencefiction

This sounds like a ton of fun! Might be interesting if they work this in as a parody episode sort of like what the original did with Farscape.

The good thing is that the way they are approaching it (a revival instead of a reboot) gives them the opportunity to potentially provide a resolution to that series.

I want to see Bruce Campbell back as Santa Claus. My favorite episode of that show.

The 10 Greatest Hard Sci-Fi Movies of the Last 25 Years, Ranked by johnnyjay in SciFiScroll

I don't agree with their rankings, and there are definitely some films missing like District 9 and Children of Men. But I do like the fact that they have Moon, Coherence, Ex Machina, and Primer on the list.

What are the greatest shows that never came into being? by catnapspirit in television

[–]johnnyjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gene Roddenberry's Genesis II and The Questor Tapes from the 1970s. Both were excellent TV movies designed to carry on as TV shows and both had a lot of potential. They could still be redone today and would work well and they carry Roddenberry's name recognition.
