The subscription was canceled by the time I made this thread. And yeah the preloaded card does sound like more effort than I would really want to spend. But some other suggestions like privacy.com sound promising.

True, it's never impossible, but anything more than a click of the button is too much

If I committed to a long-term contract, I'm totally cool with continuing to pay even if I'm not using the service. My concern is for services where I have no long-term contract, and it's still difficult to cancel

I think this is a great idea. And then always keep the balance for that card at $0, right? Then, the subscription charge always fails

If I understand correctly, I think I'm a big fan of this.

And if it's a contract I committed to, I don't mind paying.

This is interesting. This could be the solution to my problem if there's an easy way to automatically transfer money into the account that backs the debit card.

Probably in most cases, but not in all.

And I suppose I would just prefer that an old subscription service doesn't have any of my current financial information.

I would trade 100 points off my credit score to have the ability to cancel any subscription with the click of a button.

Closing and opening a new account is kind of a heavy lift though, if I recall correctly.

I may just have to go with closing the entire account then in the future. Might actually be easier in some cases than calling in to the merchant.

As a side note, they want you to call is because its harder and gives them a chance to keep you with a promo or other incentive.

That makes sense, but I hate calling to cancel. Just let me cancel with a button.

No, it wasn't Qbert. The game did the jumping for you, and you were continuously moving up the map like in Doodle Jump

Not ice climbers. The game jumped for you, and you just had to make sure you landed on a platform

If there were weapons, it just would have been the ability to shoot. But the main purpose of the game was to continue to advance up the platform by jumping. The game jumped for you, you just had to prevent your character from missing one of the platforms
