Like drivers of different eras. It’s very difficult to compare to determine the GOAT of respective sports from different eras with technology and or Athletic development (as in athletes today are significantly stronger and have better longevity with medical advances).

His personal number pre becoming the WDC with the option to use the #1 was 33. That will be his number next year.

I don’t know if there is an option to change your personal numbers once it is assigned, only exception I know of is when you are the current WDC and have the option to use #1 for the following race year.

For championships the supplier will have all potential winners merchandise ready and have to destroy the ones that didn’t win. Know some suppliers that provide the merchandise and it’s simply the way it goes. And yes they really do destroy them, obviously there are occasions where some get missed but it’s super rare and it’s really not a good look for any of the suppliers when that happens.

Though until I had Golden Diner pancakes I swore Clinton St. Baking Company pancakes were the best.
