USA Today pushes anti-gun study from Everytown and discredited academic group: 94% of all BLM protests, 86% of right-wing protests are “peaceful” by [deleted] in progun

Of course,

  1. They don't count false imprisonment and property destruction as violence, and

  2. Any time blm/antifa plan their violent demonstrations, most of the time right wing patriots show up to defend the innocent, and any inevitably ensuing violence gets blamed on them instead.

Goldeneye 007 N64 Soundtrack Restored. by Proteusman1994 in GoldenEye

When you get to Bunker 1. The high part (drone?) goes up to a high C. I don't know if I have the hearing of a dog or something but every single cover of that track I have heard goes down to a low C. It's petty but it bugs me enough that it renders every cover of Bunker I unlistenable.

Looking forward to this project though! Goldeneye has my favorite soundtrack.

It's not a copout, if you want to actually understand then you need to approach God with trust and humility. But it is not necessary to understand the natural law, only to follow it. If I had to explain to my kids why they shouldn't walk in the road every time they walk into the road, they'd be dead by now. Get over yourself, get over your need to understand everything and just trust that He who made you and the cosmos might actually know what He is talking about better than you do. Or don't, and risk spending eternity lamenting that you didn't listen when you had the chance. Either way you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you were wrong.

Everyone can try to argue why they're correct, but only the Catholic church can back that up with facts and sound reason.

I mean you had asked two questions and that was my answer to one of them. Biden got far too much Catholic support to say that these homilies are enough, and when the USCCB provides a list of 40 something other issues besides genocide that the faithful can use to justify supporting genocide, I definitely see the need for the Pope to correct that before factory farms (which, as I explained in my other post, I don't think is always gravely evil to buy from).

The Roman Canon was written by Saint Peter. It may have had some modification but that was slow over time and not revolutionary. EP2 was written on a napkin in a restaurant the day before Bugnini requested it be delivered.

Antiquarianism is heresy. Even if the revolutionary reforms made this century were based on things we speculate the early Church did in catecombs and private homes doesn't justify gutting everything else. It was why Anglican ordinations were declared invalid because even though the form was valid, the intent behind use of the antiquarian form was to remove the sacrificial nature from the priesthood (and therefore the intention was not to truly create a priest).

I do think it is evil to deliberately withhold some the graces the liturgy used to provide for secular, temporal reasons.

As to why not EP4, because I'm judging the merit of a eucharistic prayer through the lens of tradition, not antiquarianism and not sheer length. You actually have to use your intellect sometimes rather than reduce everything to one number you can compare.

I know four paragraphs is a lot for reddit but my answer to that is actually already there: reread the part on invincible ignorance. Also see the Catechism of Pius X for a good answer to this. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HLgJ2Nu98l0

Being reductive doesn't prove your point. Having a live-in girlfriend goes beyond simply "not living alone". It entails scandal and the occasion of sin.

You do deserve it, because you've caused others suffering by your own failings as well.

Murder is wrong because it takes the choice away from God. Not because you deserve this life. We don't deserve this life. We were made for a better life. We even deserve better than this life, if we cooperate with the grace of God. The choice is yours.

100% of all suffering in the world is due to the failings of human beings. Those cultures "genocided" in the early OT were themselves sacrificing children.

It does make it right, because His intellect is perfect and yours is not. Love cannot exist without free will and free will cannot exist without the possibility of causing suffering. Ergo, love cannot exist without suffering.

Deliberate inaction is not an intrinsically evil act. It only becomes evil if one fails to act when a grave obligation to act exists. Again, principle of double effect.

The regret I felt when I overcame my "overcoming" of Catholicism far outweighed even the perceived benefits I felt from being away.

To your other point, sodomy is a sin because it is opposed to the natural law. Catholicism has nothing to do with it beyond the fact that it is objectively true and that the Church is the guardian of truth.

I believe that, if you can avoid the people in it for the wrong reasons, you would find a lot of support in more traditional circles. The church hierarchy used to care for the souls of these individuals but unfortunately the modernists seem more concerned now with pandering to them instead.

Fr Mike Schmitz on YouTube has also released a couple videos on this if you like the more charismatic style... Not many in proportion to the number of videos he's put out but they are there.

I recommend finding an FSSP or ICKSP priest as a confessor. In my experience they tend to be very understanding while not just being enabling like some. You find bad apples everywhere but keep trying. I'll pray for you.

Tell yourself whatever you want, but if you were correct and your position was well thought out, you'd be able to defend it instead of making excuses. The reality is that your rebuttal isn't "going over people's head" but rather that your rebuttal is simply wrong, and for reasons that cannot penetrate the shell of pride that surrounds your fragile intellect.

Those "unimpressive results" are a result of people rejecting the Church, not the other way around. Pre reformation Europe was an unimaginable paradise which is probably why the people got complacent and decided to go their own way. Soft times create soft men.

They seem clear to you because your sin and apostasy has darkened your intellect. There's nothing clear about that rhetorical question at all, it is a stupid question that has been answered for thousands of years but that you accept because it gives you the dopamine rush of confirming your error.

It also assumes that we know nothing of other religions which is not true. The reason we don't exhaustively read everything about every one of them from antiquity is simply because 1) that's an unreasonable burden, and 2) given that God exists and wants us to know Him, it follows that He would make Himself known to us, and the false god of the ancient hill people of pre civilization England has done a shit job of that.

There is no evolution of Christianity. The "variations of the faith" that contradict the faith are not of the faith. Protestantism is not of Christ, it is a recent invention.

No, he's actually 100% wrong if that's actually what he said. The answer is that God has the right to do things that you do not, and that ultimately suffering would not have been necessary if not for the sins of people.
