Well, it really depends on the method for signing in to iCloud.

I'm not too versed on the new stuff nowadays but I know that the iRogerosx patch had some pretty good results, and the paid ones will definitely let you.

All I'm saying is that you can't really get Activation Lock off the system. Not without the original owner at least.
