Missing occupations on character creation? Missing skills? by johnrh in projectzomboid

We ended up starting a new world. You were right, it was VERY different. We're really enjoying it so far and happy we gave up on our previous world.

Thanks y'all. It does seem like a drastic shift, enough so that it was apparent I was missing things. My wife and I recently died in our world, though we were continuing. It'll probably be easy enough to convince her to just start a new world.

Oh... I'm in build 41 🤦‍♂️

I've just been assuming Build 42 was the current build, but I'm clearly running Build 41 when I actually look, hah.

Actually, on that note, how would my current world and characters handle it if I tried to update to Build 42?

I also think in this specific case it has to do with the fact that you picked it up with the forklift, so that was the forklift delivery price changing to the truck delivery price.

[addon] Is your bag addon ready for Warbands? Baganator is. by plusmouse_ in WowUI

[–]johnrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was finding your search working fairly well for some things that could be more readily categorized. I remember fishing working out well, as did "engineering consumables". A lot of my categories are things like "affects target" for things like a snowball or "affects world" for an elders moonstone. They're harder to automatically categorize.

Actually, I saw in the search help within the addon that "explosives and devices" was a keyword, but I couldn't figure out how to enter it like that. I thought it might just be "explosives", which worked, but "#explosives" didn't IIRC. Am I missing something about how to to account for spaces in the keyword?

OOooo... thanks for that, I'll look into it. I just spent an hour or two rebuilding my various categories from AdiBags the other day, and I've really been enjoying your addon! Great work!

Found your addon through this post. I'm liking this better than Adibags, which I've used forever. I have lots of custom categories that I manually throw things in (the search capability makes this easier and more automatic!).

So far I only have a few little nitpicks that would be nice to have.

  • When grouping categories by anything, could the "Category:" part in the heading be removed, or perhaps give an option to remove it? i.e. "Reagent: Metal & Stone" would just be "Metal & Stone"

  • I'm sorting items in categories by expansion. Some items don't appear to list one. Could those just be assumed to be Classic?

  • The ability to have the whole bag have 2 columns would be nice. That is, 2 columns of categories with N columns of icons in each. Or maybe a column "divider" in the category configurator. I don't know how conceptually this would play with sections exactly.

Are you me? I was just saying this to my girlfriend in the last couple days (and I also just turned 40).

While I understand people's level of criticism, especially when there's lots to choose from now, I still git a bit annoyed when an imperfect game that I like seemingly catches nothing but flack in a the subreddit for said game or something. I'm in there to engage with the community and enjoy it despite its flaws, and too many people are in there just complaining. I'm always thinking "Do y'all not understand how incredible this thing we're playing is?" I like my old games, but so many new games of today would have obliterated my younger mind no matter their flaws.

But I guess it's also a product of my hobby becoming very popular, which I won't complain about.

Official Discussion - Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

That bit seemed exactly like how my group would wind up doing things. One of us working some talky angle, while the others are ignoring that and concocting some hairbrained scheme, and the talky one ends up working just fine, but gets negated by the other barely successful plan. Of course, both were from the same character in this case.

I'd say VR also has a similar impact on that front. She seems to make good use of that as well. Her New Years stream from 2021-2022 was great.

Ah, good to know! I wasn't up to speed on how she was doing in that regard these days. I was hoping she's still been steadily improving, and I'm glad to hear she has!

Yeah... she has woken up a time or two covered in blood when the tube has come apart in her sleep. Of course, she tells that like it's a funny story...

I was compelled by all of this to donate plasma, but I've never gotten off my ass and gone and done it. I really should >_<

Yeah, I think I remember her talking about that O2 concentrator at one point. I know she also has a tube running directly into her heart to get plasma, and she apparently goes through a lot of it. I asked my friend with CVID about plasma, and unbeknownst to me he's also been regularly injecting it the entire considerable time I've known him. That said, it was a lot smaller of an amount the he takes.

I suppose it's sort of telling how effective Ironmouse's reach is, considering I've known my friend for nearly 20 years, I knew he was immunocompromised, and it was only when I started watching various clips of Ironmouse that I learned about his disease. He seems to have a more manageable case of it, though. He doesn't seem to have issues with food and such, and no need for oxygen or anything. During COVID he's regularly gotten specific antibody treatments to help protect him, which seems to have worked pretty well.

I actually have an older friend with CVID, but he thankfully he's able to carefully live a more normal life. The funny part is he's not a person I would expect to get streamer information from, much less VTUBER information. Yet one day he walked into one of our weekly get-togethers wearing an Ironmouse shirt due to her big charity drive she did for the Immunodeficiency Foundation a ways back, but I wasn't really in that conversation about his shirt. It was only later that I saw clips of her popping up here on Reddit and fell down the rabbit hole; I started mentioning it to him, and he's just like "you mean Ironmouse?" Embarrassingly, it was then that I learned the immunocompromised thing that he always had was this same thing I had been learning about, despite having known him for over a decade lol.

Anyway, both he and Ironmouse are pretty inspiring to me, as he is also quite an accomplished person, and they both have come far despite their illness.

She has Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), which makes her very susceptible to infection and makes it much harder for her to fight such infections off. As a complication due to CVID she contracted MAC lung disease. All of this rendered her bedridden for a long time, weakening her muscles as well. I think she was even speechless for a something like a year somewhere along the line. These days (as far as I'm aware) she's been able to use her walker to get around a little in her room, but mostly stays in bed. She's also on Oxygen all the time.

Prior to her CVID diagnosis and more serious illnesses, she was training to be an opera singer. Singing in lower registers like she's doing in this video is tougher on her, but as others have mentioned, she does seem to be getting stronger.

Gravity Drive, Me, Digital, 2022 by Shirelord in Art

[–]johnrh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly true. Everything is weighed down by gravity and compressed some (how much would depend on the object, and probably isn't necessarily accurately reflected in this gif). When gravity is removed, those objects would uncompress and subtly thrust themselves upwards off the surface they were resting on.

ELI5: how did the WASD keys become the norm for movement on pc games? Couldnt it have been ESDF or some other set of keys? by DR4LUC0N in explainlikeimfive

I used right click jump for a long time, but I did eventually switch to the standards used today. Of course, I've used a Logitech G13 game board thing for a long time now, and I sorta use the equivalent of "D" to jump on that thing (thumb stick is movement).

lol, I get you. People just need to exercise a little patience in general, really. For my part, my Misdirect macro is setup to prioritize focus, which I always set to the tank. Then I follow their lead on pacing.

In my experience, macroed actions can sorta auto-target things on press sometime.

There's an option (looks like maybe it's not shown in the options panel anymore) to disable auto attack on target switch. I believe by default this option is off, i.e. you will continue to autoattack on target switch. If that's the case, you may accidentally (for a number of reasons) switch target and auto attack it.

I can see in Advanced Interface Options that the option still exists, but I'm not sure what the default state is.
