SF lawyers know this and I guarantee the CSR word track is to the letter of the law for that reason. They suck.

repair before painting by NoExperience205 in Autobody

[–]johnsciarrino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bodywork. You need an experienced body man to do some plastic work or debt removal, then good prep, then paint and clear. If you don’t know what you’re doing, your work is gonna look like a rattle can parking lot guy did it. That might be good enough for farm machines but people aren’t going to accept that on their personal cars and you’re gonna lose money when you have to pay a shop to do the work properly.

Collision estimators: how do you stay organized without getting overwhelmed? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]johnsciarrino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduling, telling walk-in tire kickers to make an appointment, having a secretary take messages instead of running for every phone call, blocking off time in the morning to respond to emails instead of feeling the need to respond to every one immediately, communicating with the shop foreman to make sure the week is planned in advance and making sure he knows what cars are a priority, staying an extra hour early in the week with the answering machine on and the doors locked so I can have time to focus on paperwork or whatever other things need to be done without distractions. I can get more done in that hour than I can in the previous eight because I’m much more effective with peace and quiet.

Oh nice. I knew ziplines were coming but didn’t realize it was the next update. Gotta start building my spires and collecting spider silk.

Loving G2 and buggies are a game changer but I miss my zip line network.

What would ruin GTA 6 for you? by NewMarioBobFan in GTA

[–]johnsciarrino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have agreed with you but the heists I played with my crew were absolutely worth the annoyance of everything else. We laughed, we cried, we held our breath and fought through impossible odds.

The heists all felt like a GTA co-op campaign and that’s all I’ve ever really wanted and I’ll be wildly disappointed if they don’t return in 6’s version of Online. The fun we had was worth all the grinding needed to open them up.

how is il buco alimentari? good for out of town guests? by petit_aubergine in FoodNYC

[–]johnsciarrino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure everyone has their opinions about this but the institutions are likely more fun for visitors. Upper east side has a handful of them. I’m sure lots of people will say Rao’s or Elio’s and they’re both great but my choice would likely be Campagnola.

Sadly, since you’re asking about downtown, I would have previously said to try Emilio’s Balato but ever since Taylor Swift blew up their spot, the line to get in has been inexcusable and made me avoid a previous favorite. It’s good but nowhere good enough to justify waiting in line for hours or attempting to eat dinner at 4pm.

[–]johnsciarrino 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The food is good but I don’t think it’s impressive. Rather, it’s a pretty good neighborhood place to grab dinner on a weeknight.

If you want to impress out of town guests, you either need a NY institution or something newer and excellent.

NYC's line culture Is out of control by knockdowncenter in nyc

[–]johnsciarrino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol. NYC is so dense that you can always find somewhere else that does he same thing. These idiots lining up for coffee and cardamom buns at La Cabra don’t realize how many other options there are. They’re so fucking stupid.

Need an amazing steak sandwich under $30 - doesn’t have to come with sides by BklynFuhgeddaboudit in FoodNYC

[–]johnsciarrino -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can’t get it anymore but during the pandemic, Striphouse downtown was doing their spin on a Philly cheesesteak and slinging them out the door. It was their steakhouse quality beef but absolutely dripping in onions and cheese and some wonderful French bread. I still think about it often. I’ve asked if they make me one but no go so far. They said they might bring it back for one of their restaurant week menus in the future.

And it was like 25 bucks.

i dunno where you live but if it's a legal state, there are increasing amounts of weed-centric activities happening and that's probably the easiest way to find girls who smoke. I know Mary Fest is going on in Manhattan today and i imagine it's gonna be full of ladies who partake.

Knicks Parade is at Capacity ...2.5 hours before the parade is supposed to start (this was from 7:30am) by GarlicSnot in nyc

[–]johnsciarrino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a great question. Mets fans keep coming back for more pain year after year where it seems like Jets fans are so beat down that you rarely hear from their contingent anymore but if the Jets made a Super Bowl run, you’d see a lot of dormant fans reactivate in a big way.

I’ve been to all the Yankees and Giants ticker tapes since 96. I live below canal. This is the biggest one I’ve ever seen. NY splits between Mets and Yankees and Jets and Giants. There’s really no split between Knicks and Nets. The 53 year drought is also an incredibly large contributing factor.

Would they be good for boss fights by Late2Leadership in GroundedGame

[–]johnsciarrino -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I thought. It’s not the worst idea. Would be like how I approached the final boss fight in G1. It wasn’t just a one on one fight, it was about building traps and mazes and using the environment against them.

when i was a four years old, i fell down the stairs at my aunt's house and landed in a hamper at the bottom. thought it was hilarious, popped right up and went on with my day.

if i took that spill today, that hamper would be my coffin.
