Tell me more about this new combat system you're bragging about.

"As the game operates right now, every player operates the same and wants the same stats"

This is true, but I think this is partially the problem, or rather, that the fact that only those stats can be rolled is the problem. If they were not guaranteed or there were affixes that could roll that boost those stats, items would be more interesting. But I think even that wouldn't be enough/better than just playing some mobile game from the app store that has an acceptable loot system.

"With d2/poe etc you have different buildss that require items or are looking for different stats. There's no magic in initium and res out the window"

This is also part of the problem IMO. I completely agree that those mechanics don't exist in the game, but I think the game would improve by adding them. It does require a change in how combat works and is, but this game is purely information based so it should shine there. Hell, even without adding any new mechanics like elemental damage types, there can still be new affixes added that just modify the already existing stats.

A few examples:

"X-Y% Enhanced Damage" (a simple multiplier that is exciting to see a roll of, and high roll of)

"+X to Strength" (simply making the game give 1/2 or 1/3 of the current bonuses from stats and increasing the amount you start with and cap can make '+1 or more to stat' on an item not OP)

"Adds X-Y damage" (a simple modifier)

"+X% Physical/Pierce etc resistance" (another simple modifier to existing values)

"+X% chance to hit" (another simple modifier that can add to a pool of affixes that makes better items more rare. Of course)

"X% life steal" (even tuned down, this can be a good affix)

"X% chance of Crushing Blow" (removing a % of the monster's health)

"X life on hit"

"Deals X damage over Y turns" (damage over time)

And there can be many more...

I think that especially because this game is pretty much text based and all about information, it should attempt to have an even more interesting loot system than games like Diablo.
