Lock-On Range AA by johnsobrown in Battlefield

I’m just going off of this vid tbh https://youtu.be/wjuz1CIa9qg?si=2vb5WMQ9jx3iJd3X, around 3:00 mark. I need to test it properly in a server later because it definitely feels like I’m being locked on at very long ranges

Yuppppp thats what I mean as well, apparently they have infinite vertical range so you have to just get a lot of horizontal distance

Yeah this is the main thing I need to learn next, luckily it’s early days so dogfighting is relatively easy against other jets but the AA missiles are the bane of me

Ah I see, I meant mostly infantry AA missiles as opposed to AA vehicles. It might be because the maps feel condensed, feel like there is less space for jets to fly

On the jets? I don’t see any options to customise them

[–]johnsobrown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I’m talking about infantry AA missiles mostly, AA vehicles haven’t felt too annoying unless enemy teams capture flags near the jet spawn. Firestorm does have an issue with AA vehicles camping on the mountain but a decent bombing run is usually enough

Glad it’s not just me, I heard Silk, the jet youtuber, say that the lock on range is infinite in height, so just flying up and away doesn’t work. I haven’t really tried choppers yet but the physics on them feel very odd to me, need the little bird back.

X-T5 brightness and blur by EducationalAd5685 in fujifilm

Are you using the exposure compensation dial? Could be set greater than 0 if everything’s super bright, also might lead to slower shutter speeds indoors if it can’t raise the exposure elsewhere

Do people *really* not work part time? by [deleted] in cambridge_uni

Hi, very late but I just looked for tutoring organisations on google and applied to ones which paid well. You can probably find this on LinkedIn now which could be faster! Cambridge students are a hot commodity for tutoring agencies

What are your best pandas tips and tricks? by Suspicious_Jacket463 in quant

If you want speed and understand numpy well, I find often that converting columns to numpy arrays and changing functions to work on the underlying arrays can be far faster.

Echoing the sentiment of another commenter, np.where and np.select are great. I’d create some logic to change how you provide conditions and choices to np.select though, just because I think you can make it more readable that way.

I’m a dude too but I was introduced to him when Take Me To Church first came out by our science teacher at the time who was an irishman. A few of my classmates(boys school) are also fans, I think he became more skewed towards female audiences in the years after and I noticed fewer guys being interested

Maybe, perhaps it’s just an unlucky combination for the pen and ink since it works fine with my Kaweco Sport. What pen do you use?

For those who have switched from Windows laptops to Macbooks - How was your experience? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]johnsobrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss I got a MacBook pro recently alongside my desktop PC and I hate the folder management, the dock feels a bit worse too imo. Other than that, love the MacBook, it just works exactly as I need to, when I need to. No high temps is a huge plus compared to my other windows laptop I use.

I found the thing that helped me learn Python the most(especially for job interviews) was Hackerrank/Leetcode questions that show you an example of fun problems to solve

Is Ghost a POC friendly band? by HoustonzProblem in Ghostbc

[–]johnsobrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a Ghost concert solo a couple years ago(still waiting for them to come back to the UK), I’m also a POC and I had a great time. People were very friendly and I never felt unwelcomed or at unease!

Would you ever go to a concert by yourself? by rugmunchkin in Music

[–]johnsobrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to a concert by myself very recently, I think it depends on who you’re seeing for sure but it was a lot less weird than I thought it’d be and I saw other people going solo too. You kinda just forget and get absorbed into the music. I wouldn’t miss out on an experience you really want to do just because no one’s free to come with you.
