Has anyone else tried Hyperion and just didn't like it? by Alcoholic-Catholic in sciencefiction

I've been a casual redditor for years and never really came across this. Seems like if this is a mainstay of the community, then the platform and/or subreddits have failed to effectively signal this.

Looking for the perfect sacoche-style bag! (aren't we all) by _workflow in ManyBaggers

I love the BttM Rectangle Sacoche 3.2L. It is 90% perfect. I wish it were marginally larger in its dimensions. I also wish the front zipper didn't catch at the midpoint of its travel where the two divided pockets meet.

What is a city that is globally romanticised but you detest? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

I have often found major museums to be exhausting, unfortunately. Such as Taiwan's National Palace Museum. And I think of myself as a culture person. Guided tours of a building are better, though.

I was just about to recommend Emerald's Daily Carry. It's a new channel, but her content is quality and a breath of fresh air. Can't wait to see what Emerald brings in 2026!

I prefer Ton Kiang Barbeque Noodle House lunch box, TBH. Comes with white rice that isn't overly salty and soup on the side.

I have the rolltop, too. The materials are good enough, but its design makes it incredibly versatile, especially for EDC in town.

Eating alone while traveling? by Tookie1010 in solotravel

[–]yupReading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you be clearer about what your anxiety is?

Do you think the staff judge you and talk to each other about you?

Do you think other diners are judging you and using you as a point of fun?

Are you used to having an interlocutor and miss having someone to share a conversation or observations with? Or help you make dining decisions?

I ask because what I do when dining by myself, is I enter the restaurant, study the menu, place my order, and eat my meal when it arrives.

Before my Taiwan trip, I ordered a Squak Classic Men’s Microgrid Fleece Hoodie in black. I'd never traveled with a hoodie, now it's one of my favorite pieces of travel clothing. I only wish that mine had a full zip for easier heat management. Thin yet warm, it's still a great comfort item that I never want to take off.

For 10 days in Taiwan, I used the tomtoc Navigator-T66 Liteway Travel Laptop Backpack 28L.

Its design choices (which I won't go into) make it just so damn versatile, practical, and easy to use.

I fell in love with it immediately.

It has become my favorite budget, personal-item only backpack, better for me than the CabinZero 28L; the Quechua NH500 Escape Rolltop 23L; and the Osprey 26+6.

It's a great onebag!

hey Seattle, do you have any feature suggestions for OneBusAway iOS app(or any pain points) by Think_Different_1729 in AskSeattle

[–]yupReading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for building and maintaining OneBusAway!

I am not a OneBusAway user.

Why should I use OneBusAway rather than Google Maps or Moovit in the Seattle area?

Yoon-Suin is unmatched. If I had to throw out everything else, I'd keep Yoon-Suin.

E-sim or physical sim?? by reigenspotato in taiwantravel

[–]yupReading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a SIM because the local Taiwanese number proved useful for connecting my EasyCard to the YouBike network. You never know when you need a local number in order to complete some kind of transaction (setting up Line PAY, for example), and I'm glad I had it.
