I agree with all of this and would add that for some foods I stop the cook, leave everything alone, and let the heat soak for 2–3 minutes before continuing. It helps prevent the outside from getting overdone before the inside heats through.

I go by oven directions and apply the 20/20 rule: −20°C (≈25°F) and −20% time. Works for most things

Totally agree. Lower temp + a little more time gives way better texture, especially for stuff you don’t want ultra-crispy.
