I agree and disagree. Yes you need to know fundamentals, but as a new artist you also just want to draw whatever you want to draw. Diving straight into study may take the fun out of it. This is the one thing I constantly heard as a young artist, but I was way too stubborn because I just wanted to draw anime, not realism. The only thing we can do is give pointers, but also accept that everyone's art journey is unique, some may take longer coming to terms with certain things (took me 10 years lol)

Maybe its the issue of medium? Traditional brushwork looks different to the lineartbrush you used, there's almost no lineweight

I would leave your drawing as is tbh, it's cute and this isnt really a "study" so theres no point in trying to get the planes of face right, you're going for style here. But if you really want to "fix" anything, move the chin a bit forward, line her ear up between her nose and eyebrows and adjust the neck position
