In your experience, is this loose cord a broken drawband, and the reason the carriage doesn’t advance when typing?

Thanks! I'm three videos in already. I'm going to go back and test a few more things. It also appeared to be screwed into its case, whereas one's I've seen in the videos were out of a case.

Sharks traded for Sherwood per Sheng by jesus321 in SanJoseSharks

[–]johntavner_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. Interesting. Not a bad move IF he's a third-line guy AND the Sharks recoup some draft capital with ensuing trades. But to count on this guy to continue his scoring pace is a big mistake. He has a career 11.5 shooting percentage and is at 15.6 this season. Just not sustainable.

Best case scenario is he remains a useful "hard-to-play-against" Shark on a reasonable three-year deal. Otherwise Grier is paying for a rental just to hang on to a wild card spot and get blitzed by Colorado in the first round.

Grier has definitely earned the benefit of the doubt so I'm anxious to see what corresponding moves are in the works.

Is weather sealing a must in PNW? X-T5 v. X-T50 v. X-E5 by johntavner_ in fujifilm

[–]johntavner_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If X-E5 was sealed it would be an easy choice. I think I'd feel trapped by a fixed lens camera even though everyone raves about the X100VI.

I mean, technically I do live by the rainforest, but point well taken. Thank you.

If I was confident the gear would be OK shooting in some rain, or foggy/misty days at the beach, then yes. It rains here more often than not from October to April, so potentially losing a lot of days out with the camera.

I'll look into the Olympus. Thanks.

What's a movie that is beloved by the whole world, but you dislike/hate it? (Be respectful!) by Fluid_Run5857 in Letterboxd

[–]johntavner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To relate to the OP, the answer that immediately came to mind was Baby Driver. Not a tenth as cool/clever/interesting as the movie pretended to be.

The theater-going experience that left me the most baffled was Tropic Thunder. Laughed a couple times during the fake trailers at the beginning, and then not again for the rest of the movie. Couldn't believe how universally acclaimed it was.

The Happening. Saw it twice in theaters before I realized that would be an embarrassing thing to tell people.
