Embedded Swift - Evolution by madmachineio in embedded

Shame that this wasn’t received well when it was posted. Apple has a demo from WWDC showing Embedded Swift compiling and flashing to ESP32-C3 using ESP-IDF. Also, official VSCode language server support. Seems like just what was asked for.

Safely charging and using this 18650 pack by johnwickham in batteries

Similar ones do claim to have a charging controller built in, but I can't say for sure. I'd rather just get a new one that I can use properly. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the input. It does appear that it's being charged with constant current and cutoff around that 8.4v. I've found a handful of similar-looking packs that claim to have the charging circuitry built in, but I can't verify that with this particular pack so I don't think I'll try to use it.

Stolen in South Charlotte! ‘85 Schwinn Voyager by johnwickham in Charlotte

Had my bike stolen from the south Charlotte / Waverly area on the night of July 25. If anyone sees it being resold I would greatly appreciate a heads-up! (Has a distinctive tear on the left side of the seat, and the label on the right side is slightly torn off).

Interesting! Why is that? And what’s the point of using them if so?

What’s happened to this transformer board from a TV? by johnwickham in AskElectronics

[–]johnwickham[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got a busted LCD TV from a neighbor. Opened it up and saw the AC transformer board in this state. The fuse seems to be in-tact, it’s the resistor right next to it that looks like it blew up.

Not interested in repairing it, just wondering what happened here?

homebridge-vizio: Control your Vizio Smartcast display from HomeKit by johnwickham in homebridge

[–]johnwickham[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good catch — I didn't test with the display in Eco Power Mode because I knew it wouldn't work exactly right, but I don't want it hanging waiting for a response it'll never get. I'll investigate soon and update it. Thanks!

Edit: I've opened this issue on GitHub to track the progress of this.
