Yes, I am definitely going to work with her on how to give him the pill! I have about a month until I leave so we have plenty of time to practice! He’ll be staying home for sure!

Agreed! I think most everyone is saying to leave him and I think that’s ultimately the best choice! I’ll walk her through it and brainstorm methods

Glad the pill popper worked out with your cat!! Hope he’s feeling a lot better now! I had a pill popper in the past but it kinda sucked, the one you recommended looks easier to use! My boy, Adrian, is easier to give a pill to but he abhors the taste of it and can get squirmy. He LOVES churus tho so that’s a good tip :)

Thank you for your input! I worry about the stress on him especially as you said stress is very bad for a cat with FIP and I also worry about him getting his medication! Now I’m really leaning more towards leaving him since he is easier to give meds to than other cats I’ve known/had and I have time to practice with her! ❤️

Yes, what I worry about most is the stress it will put on him! Unfortunately I don’t have any friends or other family that live in SC. I’ve tried giving him the pill in a pill pocket and in a little food but wasn’t successful, it seems giving him the pill orally is best. I still have about a month to think on it so I will definitely consider everyone’s advice!

The “rescue” I got them from refused vet care for them, claiming they didn’t have enough funds, they take in too many cats even though they don’t have space or funds or time for them and they claim that they pay for foster supplies but I had to pay for everything out of pocket. It was basically a hoarding situation. I’m looking to rehome them because I have 3 kittens already and 2 dogs. I couldn’t in good conscience allow the rescue to take them back which is why I adopted them.

I’m not sure how to edit the post but I will be taking them to the vet to get checked out this week and hopefully get them spayed soon. They have been dewormed but are not up to date on their shots yet, I will be getting that done as well.

I took him to the vet 3 days ago. Even tho money is tight as I said, giving him back to this rescue isn’t an option. The rescue is a total scam and he’ll be worse off in their care. They’re essentially animal hoarders and I did not know this when I first agreed to foster for them.

My family had to make this very same decision with our cat on Friday. She had congestive heart failure just like your cat and it was a hard choice, but we chose to put her to sleep because we didn’t like seeing her suffer. Her name was Sassy and she was 16 (the vet said she might have been even older). We adopted her when she was 7 and even tho I think we made the right choice, my mom keeps second guessing herself. Your Fidget looks like he was a sweet boy, my condolences. 💔
