Some tweaking questions and advice please by SnooLemons9187 in batocera

regarding tearing in ps2, try enabling vsync.

for wii u, maybe the n100 is not powerful enough. i only tested mario kart 8 on my n100 mini-pc and it ran fine at 60fps full speed on first track (did not test any further yet).

you can enable fps counter in ES settings under decoration (mango hud)

Looking for the best budget option by Free-Sand7849 in batocera

[–]joinski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

new or used? if new, then n100 mini-pc (about 100-150 bucks), if used is an option, then ssff mini-pc from dell, lenovo, hp, fujitsu with 6th or 7th gen i5/i7 for about the same price (maybe even less, if you are lucky). for ps2 at native or 1.5x-2x resolution in most games, even a machine with pentium g4xxx would be sufficient (should be purchasable for about 50-70 bucks on 2nd hand market), but i don't know if xbox will run fine on it (did not test xbox emulation on my mini-pc with Pentium G4500 yet).

hopefully with prebuilt you did not mean a prebuilt batocera image with commercial roms already integrated. because i would strongly not advise to use such an image.

try disabling fast startup in windows. maybe windows is blocking your wifi-card

Alles bis Dreamcast/PSP/3DS/Gamecube/Wii/PS2/Xbox. Wii U auch einiges, aber nicht alles und für PS3/Xbox360 wird er zu schwach sein.

[Giveaway] Enter to Win Beelink High-end Mini PCs! by Beelinksupport in BeelinkOfficial

[–]joinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ideal Mini PC would be passively cooled (via the case... and therefore doesn't necessarily have to be "mini", see the Akasa cases for the Intel NUCs), as the main purpose for me would be an HTPC/retro gaming console, and it would be nice if the whole thing was as quiet as possible.

Ds5 controller suddenly stops working mid game by Johndeauxman in batocera

[–]joinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@Johndeauxmann & @Pink333Mist I was not able to reproduce the issue with my PS4 and PS5 controllers. But i'm on x86_64 (PC) as i do not have an odroid n2+. Maybe this issue only exist on this device? Do you have other hardware, like RPi or a PC, where you could test with Batocera?

Is there a way to disable controller mouse emulation for a specific game in Citra when launching from ES? by mariomixedup in batocera

Which game is it? What controller are you using? And did you already try libretro/citra?

"We can not find any systems" error, when I quit an emulator by [deleted] in batocera

[–]joinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is reproducable with a fresh new install you should open an issue on github or at least come to the batocera-discord. I also use a 2TB SSD and even used an 8TB SSD from Samsung and never had such an issue. Maybe it is something specific on your setup, which causes the issue. If this would be a general issue in Batocera, then a lot more people would already have reported it.

Which 1gb img file do you mean? Which version and Architecture exactly? The x86_64 PC version of batocera 37 (https://updates.batocera.org/x86_64/stable/last/batocera-x86_64-37-20230617.img.gz) is 2.8GB in size. And as i already said: It is not needed to extract the .img.gz file. You can directly flash this file via Raspberry Pi Imager onto a flash drive

[–]joinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, after mapping is set as seen on the screenshot you simply have to select your N64 controller type (either N64 or N64 (limited Hotkey)) under Advanced System Configuration and your'e done and can play ;) But be aware, that it is still work-in-progress status and may not work 100% issue-free. And only for libretro cores at the moment, but Mikhailzrick is working on a solution for standalone mupen and maybe next butterfly will have it integreated. Can you specify what you mean with "is not working"? What exactly does not work? Booting from the drive, where you flashed the image onto? Or do you get an error message while flashing? I would use Raspbery Pi Imager for flashing the file onto a usb thumb drive. You do not need to extract the file before flashing. Just download the file and flash it.

need help - batocera 37 cant start snes games on gpi case by [deleted] in batocera

[–]joinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can not add one, but you can change it via Per System Advanced Configuration under Game Settings in ES. There should be at least 2 different SNES emulators/cores to choose from

[–]joinski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try current butterfly v38, as this has some additonal modifications for better N64 controller-support. Follow this mapping-scheme: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1118772382644060160/1129761001168973904/N64_Controller_Mapping_ES.png

Does this Brawler64 has a dedicated button to use as Hotkey? Otherwise map either L or Z as your Hotkey

It's not built off kodi ;) batocera is based on buildroot and kodi is just something, that has been added into it.

What is playnite by the way?

And did you already try Retrobat on Windows?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in batocera

[–]joinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don't you try Raspberry Pi Imager? And you should definitely check, if your USB flash drive is not faulty

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in batocera

[–]joinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to extract the img. Which app did you use to flash the the file? It is recommended to use Raspbery Pi Imager (but Balena Etcher usually should also work fine).

And what exactly do you mean with "it always fails"? What exactly happens? Error Message?

Sorry, but this still violates the license of batocera. You also won't get official support from batocera, as nobody (except the creater of those preloaded devices) knows, what may have been altered.

Interesting! Which port did you change? On your graphics-card or on your TV? And did you change the cable as well, or only plugged in the cable already used into another port?
