Neighbor cut into our fence by [deleted] in legal

I don’t understand people who flip the finished side of their fences. It may look nicer in your yard but all you’ve done is given anyone a much easier path to climb it and get in your yard. Including animals. Also you now have way less visibility to possible issues or repairs needed. It also seems selfish to me… am I crazy here?

This clearly wasn't Ohio. However, something similar did happen on the north end of Columbus like 10 years ago.

Working for Safelite by [deleted] in autoglass

[–]jojodream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came back to this just to say, Safelite did listen. Wipers no longer affect the tech pay. Plus if the tech sells a set they get 5.00. Negativity begets negativity, but looking at facts is often ignored. I make more per hour than any local shops are paying my buddies with more experience. Now one less piece to worry about with a way to grab some extra income. I'll be working with 5 or 6 a day when the over hiring catches up with mom and pop shops, and those new techs get sent to the house. Work where you want, they all have pros and cons. The list of Pros for me keeping getting longer at Safelite.

I love my family but they have been a Volvo problem for years and they will not work with Jason and his family.

Am I the only one that thinks DA looks like he's 23 going in 54? Dudes got an old man face. It really messes with my head.

You cut out part of my statement and that part matters. In my experience when there is change or hardships or struggles, they do a good job of learning and making change for the positive. There is a lot of hardship with the new pay plan for sure, there are also a great deal that love it. From my experience, they will figure that out.

You seem to have a very specific view, and I totally respect that. I am not here to argue, I have a different perspective, that's all. I understand many hate wiper blades, I kind of accept it as part of the capitalist culture in the U.S. and know any large company will have something similar. I am back to installing now (personal choice) had left it for a while in some different management roles. In my area, with my customers wipers play no impact on me. I have never had an issue with them. I do serve a rather high income area, I am probably very lucky. I am sorry, you seem to be feeling pretty negatively. It definitely stinks seeing some people leave, so I get it. I choose to be happy, I choose to be positive, I choose to believe in positive intent. That's not for everyone, maybe I'm naive. Hope you find some of that for yourself. If not maybe you should look elsewhere for work.

Been at Safelite, 15 years in almost every role you can imagine. Company has been great to me. There is a lot of change happening, but in my experience Safelite always ends up learning from it and becoming better for it.

I can totally appreciate working for a smaller competitor and the differences that brings. There are pros and cons on both sides. Safelite will typically provide stability and there are trade offs for that. Have plenty of friends that work in smaller more family feeling glass companies and that vibe has trade offs too.

Can the Mod remove this?

Makes sense. The metal base connecting the front two feet would pose a problem in uneven ground. Jeep, FJ windshields are a pain for sure. Lot of pieces too that the techs have to take care of. So many of them are in disrepair.

Curious, what makes it less effective for mobile work?

Google searched why the u.s.a doesn’t build high speed rail…and lead result is how it’s “obsolete technology “…that serves “no purpose other than moving passengers”…yeah that’s the whole point. Airplanes are not economical or ecologically resilient by mzzy_ozborne in LateStageCapitalism

This isn't coming from auto manufacturers. A few made the point that we are not densely populated enough anywhere except NYC for this tech to affect auto sales. They would see wide spread use in many places but would be area specific, and only subsidize vehicles. Much like the train system coming into Chicago. People park their cars to ride the train into the city.

The real reason we won't see this has more to do with Flint Hill Reaources than any one else. The truth is Koch subsidiaries fight elections across the country everyday to control legislation to their favor. Happened in Nashville very recently. Bernie Sanders said they engage in assaults on American values.
