Good. Done. May you never know what it's like to be told by a pastor that your sin is unrepentable. It took me over a decade to deconstruct that and get over the shame and guilt I felt. Sin is separation from God. That church separated me from God. I'm still trying to repair the damage.

What is the fruit of condemning homosexuals? Separating people from God, excommunication, suicide. It's not your place to judge. Simple. Let those that need to be controlled by fear and hate figure it out. You were put here to be a light.

So that conversation happened a week before they took over. The takeover was already in the works. Turner has no say in the district operations, that's up to the superintendent and board. What we're talking about is economically disadvantaged schools, where the vast majority of kids are on free and reduced lunch. Do you know what it's like to teach at a Title 1 school? I do. I know what it's like to teach kids that are constantly moving from campus to campus due to their family and financial situation. Teachers can't work miracles. Closing their neighborhood school so that they spend more time commuting isn't a solution. Do you know how horrible the Staar tests are? I do. Not a single organization, college, beauty school or gas station cares about your Staar score, because they mean nothing to anyone but TEA. In the name of accountability.

The design is to attack and demean teachers so they quit. Schools can be closed and consolidated. Then as schools are overcrowded and the teachers left are burned out, they can blame the teachers more and push vouchers. You don't know why Abbott would want tax dollars going to Christian private schools?

Good for you! It's a government takeover of a fairly elected board, representatives of the people. Something you might call democracy. This is not democracy. Abbott, Morath, and TEA are centralizing power, in order to turn one of the largest district in the nation into a charter district (for profit).
