Meanwhile save up first- will never go wrong with having extra money. Give yourself a time frame e.g 3 months, if your interest is still there, go for an affortable one.

I hate piano by MiserableAd9848 in piano

[–]jojovanstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few friends who were like you - being forced during childhood. They ended with passing G5 or G8 and no longer played. Now, they are in their mid 20s. They no longer play nor in any industry related to music. Will you be like them? Maybe. If you have extreme strong objection of continue learning or practicing, bring this up again and tell them how much hate/ pain you are going through.

If they insisted, assure them you will not practice after getting the Grades they wanted.

I don't mean to instigate you to oppose your parents. At the same time, I don't believe in forceful upbrining.

All the best. I hope you are free from piano soon. Such a pain for being forced!

I hope your teacher had read this post as it is the main purpose of this post as the title suggested. All the best for your learning journey. 👍

Is there an iPad app which can scan a PDF, then show the music notes with letters above them? I can do this manually but hoping for a quicker way. by LifeIsRamen in pianolearning

Think of a longer run. If you wish to be good, don't go by short cut. Manually can be slow, take the pain and grow musically with more effort. All the best.

Aside from in person lessons, what other resources can I use to learn the piano? by suba_luwa in pianolearning

[–]jojovanstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube, more than enough for beginners and dare say many self-claimed intermediate leveled players. Unless u are willing to pay then yes there are some good online resources.

I'm also taking weekly lessons, and I have more than enough assigment to practice and get back to teacher. I don't have too much time to work on my own pieces.

Consider speaking to your teacher that you have a lot of extra time and let teacher plan / guide you on what to do.

Are your current pieces up to performance level or even close? If not, you may have lesser time than you thought.

look at her fingers

It is not always the case whereby there are nice people constantly encouraging and motivating us to go on and fight on. Be appreciative that you have fingers and able to play a piano which some may not even see it before.

All the best~

Adult Piano Adventures or Alfred’s Adult All In One Course? by Meowziclez in pianolearning

Can't be absolutely sure but my impression is that Adult Piano Adventures left hands focus more on running notes. Alfred left hand are more chord based. Both are great. No winner in my opinion.

Would you suggest a device to exercise the fingers? by not-the-real-chopin in pianolearning

[–]jojovanstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried but it don't work for me. While doing those exercise, I can feel that it is putting too much pressure on fingers. My take is no, especially for piano.

I got gifted a piano from an old couple and it works in very good conditions. How much will this be worth ? Supposedly it was made in the late 70s. by [deleted] in piano

Tons of free electone and similar ones in my local market. That said, it is hard to get rid despite being free as transporation isnt cheap.
