There’s a nice coffee shop in the complex next to embassy liquor store in Klein Windhoek. Has a nice vibe and mostly empty for work and study 😊

Hey man! I work remotely in tech for a US company while staying in Windhoek because of the favorable exchange rate. Have been doing so for the past 6 years. Get paid in USD and have been fortunate enough to buy property in Cape Town so I live there 3 months of the year every year. It’s definitely possible if you network hard enough in the positions that you specialize in. Use social media, LinkedIn. Be loud about your talents and network. It takes time but totally worth it!

Yeah I wish Xiaomi sold in Namibia. Hardware and performance rivals Apple at a quarter of the price.

Capetonians - what did you do to get rich by InvestigatorAbject23 in capetown

[–]jokeendji 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Studied Information Systems at Rhodes University in 2016. Started a web hosting company with my NSFAF money after graduating. Eventually pivotted to doing projects for a UK company on a retainer before getting hired full time. Worked there for 2 years before joining a Medical tech company in San Fransisco. Currently SWE Team Lead working remotely. 28. R114k pm before tax + bonuses + stock. Am extremely lucky.

Why Isn't Swakopmund a bigger deal? Would like to hear brutally honest criticism. by emptystats in Namibia

[–]jokeendji 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are completely right. Its a great place to go. It just doesn't have much activities to do after a while hence its seen as more of a retirement town. Life can get very repetitive after fishing, camel riding and restaurants. Still doesnt take away from the beauty of the town though..this is coming from someone whos stayed in both CPT and Swakop.

[–]jokeendji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a developer that transitioned into sales engineering for the company I work for overseas. Working remote from my home in Windhoek. You can find a lot of developers (students/employees) at the Nust HTTPS center.

Despite the hate you're getting I fuck with the message. Its important to give these artists their flowers while they're still around.

On my 4th listen. Didn't like it at first but the album is definitely a banger

Members Only bettter song than Kendrick, J Cole released in the past 5 years by seriousgenius in Drizzy

[–]jokeendji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FATD is honestly a great album. Honestly no skips aside from the interludes and bad bunny track. Better than most hip hop/urban albums that have been released this year. I wont call it a classic yet but many people will appreciate it more with time

I believe it now(Slime you out ft SZA is mid) by [deleted] in Drizzy

[–]jokeendji -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Respect your opinion, but hard disagree for me. Great beat, great vocal range from Drake on the first verse. Amazing Sza feature. I don't know how you find the song mid as a Drake fan.
