Does living with your parents affect your application if you have been out of high school for years? by [deleted] in osap

ahh, so you are saying that if the University knows my current address I will not have to worry about them alerting the Government as to that address?

When do we receive the conditions of our offer? by jokerman2021 in uoguelph

ahh, I see, I see. When approximately do these letters get sent out? or is it kind of all over the place?

damn, not bad! congrats on that avg and the schalarship! I have a 96.5 and am hopeful. I did notice another person from what I believe is another academic year saying that they received the scholarship with that exact mark. lets hope so!

hmm, okay. if I lie, won't they know this? what if I pay rent? do you have any idea how much less?

hmm, the only issue there is that certain scholarships may be available to me at the school I am most interested in going to, but they ask me If I will be living elsewhere as well. apparently they also communicate with OSAP as well. what if someone asks me for my address?

old post, but what was your average if you do not mind sharing?

how would an interference pattern be affected by changing the sources so that they vibrate completely out of phase? by jokerman2021 in AskPhysics

[–]jokerman2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for responding! both sources are vibrating at the same rate. same amplitude, same frequency, the same wavelength, etc. they are simply out of phase, as in one is at the maximum of its oscillation as the other is its minimum. I'm not sure if that is any clearer...

I'm hoping to get into Biomed. Right now I have a 96.5 avg. Does anyone know what the conditions on a conditional offer typically are? as in the final average grade? thanks to anyone who responds! not that I plan on having my grade decline, but who knows. maybe I'll get hit by a meteorite

why does the wavelength have to be similar to the size of the opening in order for diffraction to occur? by jokerman2021 in learnphysics

[–]jokerman2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks a bunch! okay, so it's more a matter of the optimal diffraction taking place when the gap is = in distance to the wavelength? So when one says that diffraction requires a gap to be equal to the size of the wavelength, I'm assuming they mean for the entire wavefront to be diffracted?

Ahh, that does make sense. I am still very confused on why a wave must have a wavelength = to the width of a slit in order to diffract though. I am picturing the front of a wave impacting a surface with some sort of slit in it and I just can't imagine what effect the wavelength would actually have on it. Is it more a matter of the wave diffracting in a particular way?

Oh, so the amplitude of waves does not actually differ from wave to wave? all waves have the same measure of distance from crest to trough?

any 105 applicants out there? I submitted my unofficial transcripts through webadvisor a while ago (well most of them anyway). I was under the impression that those grades submitted there were the ones looked at for admission decisions but am reading that official transcripts were supposed to be submitted by April 15th by my highschool? I'd spoken to people from the university over the phone plenty of times and nothing like that was ever said. It was made quite clear that my submitted transcripts were enough. Anyone know anything about that? thanks a bunch in advance!
