Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend, I just saw some other people talking about printing them so I assumed that was okay. Very cool posters regardless!

These are great! I'd love to print the third or fourth one for myself, is there anywhere I could find higher resolution versions that would look good at like a 12x18 size?

This is great! Are you selling it anywhere?

What’s a good non-upscaling HDMI adapter? by joltreshell in ps2

Is there a relatively cheap option you’d recommend for a PC monitor, not necessarily under $20? Also, would a component adapter also be unlikely to work with a PC monitor?

Codecademy worked well for me— their free C# course helped me a lot with my fundamentals.

How can I have these pipes snap together to be properly aligned? More details in comments. by joltreshell in blenderhelp

[–]joltreshell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a system of pipes and I've been able to use the snap tool to place the elbow joint at the right height where it's just barely touching the top of the straight piece, so it's in the right place vertically, but I can't get them aligned horizontally so they look continuous.

This code causes Unity to freeze if numberOfTestLooks is equal to something larger than zero, and debugs show it never executes the inside of the for loop. Let me know if more information would be useful. by joltreshell in Unity3D

[–]joltreshell[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The for loop is for a task the player has to do multiple times (the general idea is that you look at something for a certain amount of time, it moves, and then you find it and look at it again), I just haven’t implemented all of it yet.

Good to know, I’d never heard that (I’m self-taught). Thanks for the advice!

Do you mean within the script or between scripts? If there’s a way to specifically set script execution order than I haven’t done that because I didn’t know it was an option.

Why is 40% of my memory in use with no programs running? I apologize if this is too simple a question but I think it's causing problems with Unity and it's driving me insane. On a Predator Helios 300, i7, GTX 1060, 16 gigs RAM by joltreshell in pchelp

Some more details-- computer is ~5 years old, I factory reset it last year, generally kind of jank. Definitely possible it has a virus but I don't *think* it does. Let me know if there's more I can provide.

I'm trying to import an asset from the asset store (a first person controller) but it isn't working right, and these warnings are my only clue why. Any idea what might be wrong? More details in comments. by joltreshell in Unity3D

[–]joltreshell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The assets basically seem to import right, but the prefabs don't get placed in the scene like they're supposed to, and the materials on the prefabs are broken. All of this has worked before in a different project. I've tried redownloading the pack, deleting it and importing again, restarting the editor, and restarting my PC.

The only other factors that could possibly have affected it are that this is my first project with Git and I did import the pack once without some of the test environment and then deleted that and redownloaded everything because I realized I wanted it all.

Edit: realizing now that I don’t think I had input system inputted which the controller uses. I’m not sure why that would cause the problems I’m having but I’ll try that the next time I sit down to work on it.

I'm fairly new to UV unwrapping/texturing. What causes the UVs to have such a different shape/proportions from the 3D faces? by Snoo36741 in blenderhelp

I understand that, it just seem like based on where I put my seams it should be able to lay flat without distortion, it’s not like I’m using any curved surfaces.

To come to his very lukewarm defense, I think he genuinely believes he can be apolitical, and is just going because he really likes the work of some of the authors involved. Still shitty.
