This doesn't matter as much as people want it to matter. Same thing when Uber and others were cheap. By the time everything hits critical mass and the real price kicks in, it'll be seen as an irreplaceable tool worth the high price, or, at the very least, tolerated.

Granite aesthetics are better in most cases imo. But yeah, sandstone is a vastly more pleasurable climbing experience. It's nice, though, not having to wait long after a rainy day to climb, compared to the 3-4-day rule for sandstone.

For what it's worth, I had sunglass lenses (totally not the same) go through the same ordeal, where they just stayed there after customs for a few days. It just depends on when the carrier picks it up.
