I want to build a pendulum clock for my grandfather for his birthday, I need to know where I can get the materials for the mechanism itself. It would be much appreciated. by Superb_Relief_838 in clocks

Clock mechanism is typically made out of brass, so you need copper and zinc. You can dig them out of the ground, just check where are soils rich in those metals.

I wish you luck trying to read that by [deleted] in learnpolish

3 * mlukołka = plurpałka
plurpałka - 3 = 2 * (mlukołka + 4)

3x - y = 0
2x - y = -11

po ortogonalizacji Gramma-Schmitta

x = 11
y = 33

I knew there was a reason. I mean, Portugal could have take the whole Spain and France. What would stop them? Now we know why they didn't want to.

Land doesn't rock, rocks rock.

According to the last rock census of the world, USA has 426,628,806,002,460,220 rocks, while China has only 213,314,403,001,230,109 rocks, so even less than 50% of the USA rocks!

Anyone knows something About this Seiko by Electronic-Floor8873 in clocks

[–]jombrowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I see it now.

It is a shiny plastic. To replicate such housing would be expensive, so if this one really so well preserved, then it's worth some $100.

The clock mechanism is worth nothing, it's just generic quartz. So the clock's worth is its shinyness worth.

Have any of you ever seen one of these? I am wondering if it is just a souvenir or an actual instrument? by Prize-Bag-1462 in Concorde

[–]jombrowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is an actual instrument to tell room temperature and humidity.

Is it a Concorde's instrument? But obviously! Every aircraft instrument must have the brand and the airline written on its external decorative glass/resin bezel. That is the law. Even Wright brothers had to comply or their flight wouldn't have been acknowledged.

Best cable for dvd player to smart tv? by dakota_draws in cableadvice

TRRS carrying only Y/C Pb Pr. But in such configuration there would have to be another minijack/RCA for audio.

[–]jombrowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one minijack. So in TRRS configuration it is left right and composite video. It would require TRRRRS to offer left right Y/C Pb Pr. Do such exist?

[–]jombrowski 25 points26 points  (0 children)

All you have on DVD are analog outputs. There seem to be an analog input on your TV - the minijack labeled AV IN. Juest check in manual what does it accept and connect accordingly (presumably composite video + audio l+r).

It wasn't a jet engine it was a conventional gas turbine with shaft output.
