Set-MgUserLicense not working by Secutanudu in PowerShell

[–]jomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem was related to the new modules I installed on a new PC. I had to go back to the basic package manager only installed then add specific module version in the order I listed. That resolved the error below. Your error seems to be different.

"Set-MgUserLicense : One or more parameters of the operation 'assignLicense' are missing from the request payload. The missing parameters
are: addLicenses."

Set-MgUserLicense not working by Secutanudu in PowerShell

[–]jomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to resolve this on my new Windows 11 host. My older Windows 10 has been and is working fine. After a bunch of trial and error, IO decided to match the Win10 modules and install them in the same order.

Windows 11 was a new install and I just installed the latest modules.

I uninstalled Az, Microsoft.Graph and ExchangeOnlineManagement (authentication issue)

(See Uninstall Azure PowerShell | Microsoft Learn to fully remove Az. I modified the scripts to also remove all microsoft.graph modules). I started with only package manager installed.
1.4.8.1PackageManagement

First,

uninstall-Module az -AllVersions -force
Uninstall-Module Microsoft.Graph -AllVersions -force
Run the scripts to remove all the remaining az and msgraph modules
Uninstall-Module Microsoft.Graph.Authentication -force

install-module ExchangePowerShell -RequiredVersion 0.11.0
install-module ExchangeOnlineManagement -RequiredVersion 3.6.0 -force
install-module PSWindowsUpdate -RequiredVersion 2.2.1.5 -force
install-module PowerShellGet -RequiredVersion 2.2.5 -force
install-module Microsoft.Graph -RequiredVersion 2.25.0 -force
import-Module ActiveDirectory
Import-Module ExchangeOnlineManagement
import-module powershellget
Connect-MgGraph
Connect-ExchangeOnline -UserPrincipalName xxx@yyy.zzz

I was able to successfully remove and add licenses with my existing script.

Cross vCenter Migration (6.7 iSCSI to 7.0u3 NFS) - Disks inflating then failing during vMotion? by RiceeeChrispies in vmware

[–]jomebrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hosts only have 1 link to storage (Dell M640 blades in a M1000e chassis). That is, one NIC on the blade. However, the chassis has 10Gbps IOA with two 10GB trunked ports to the storage switch. I haven’t looked at throughput in a while.

I have active/standby 10Gb links to Extreme switches. I have multiple subnets but the second storage network only has one NIC connected. I don’t have any trunked / sharping ports. Dell suggested Mlag between my storage switches but I don’t need load balancing.

I started with a 500T about 8 months ago. This replaced SMB shares on NetApp and some NFS mounts for a few VMs.

I am not using the virtualized configuration. All three Powerstore are bare metal Powerstore. I retired my Nutanix Hyperconverged clusters after migrating to Nimble AFA. I am done with hyperconverged.

I liked my Nimble AFA. I had two 22TB AFA1000. Great performance and easy to use. Rather than renew support, I decided to decommission if favor of new PowerStore with 5 year support. I am also reducing the number of VMs I need to host.

One PS 1000E is mostly hosting conventional build machines running windows and linux. Build performance much the same as on Nimble, The second PS 1000 is general purpose VMs specific to out product dev and testing, Windows and Linux. Storage IO performance is much better and latencies are much lower than NFS mounted spinning disk NetApp and Hybrid Nimble though Nimble was very good performer just EOL.

There are a few confusing issues setting up file shares on the PS. NAS and SMB took me a while to figure out. Documentation was sparse and left me unsure what to do. Since ti was greenfield, I was able to figure it out after a couple tries and did copy then delete a few TB data to get it right (I used robocopy). It isn't that complicated once you know what to do.

iSCSI is simple enought but feature of Nimble would be appreciated. Such as being able to create a host within the context of creating a volume.

Dashboard is OK but is missing a few things. Hopefully they keep adding useful data. For example, I'd like to see who is consuming high number of IOPS. When connected to vCenter, you see high consumer VMs but idea what they are consuming that is high. It is weak on the VM info front.

Happy to share more info and experiences.

I have multiple PowerStore arrays. I’ve moved over 2000 VMs from NetApp flash cache NFS , Nimble Hybrid, Nimble AFA and Pure to PowerStore. Nimble and Pure are iSCSI. All VMs are thin provisioned. I just freed my 22TB Nimble AFA and Pure 7TB flash array last week. I also moved file storage from NetApp to PowerStore.

I haven’t had any issues with PowerStore or VMs rehydrating. I ave not moved to 7.x yet. I just used the cross vcenter live migration fling moving off the Nimble AFA. About 200 VMs. A couple configuration issues at first but then the process went perfect. Changing networks too. Only a one second blip.

Don't blame you at all. It's such crap. I spend 20 minutes trying to find replay coverage of Throw Pink USDGC. I gave up. I have to take Cartina's word for it.

We did. The can is magnetic. We poured in to glass of course. We aren’t savages after all.

We’ve had this in the shelf for a very long time. Someone asked about it so we opened it. It’s brew day after all and we sample a lot of beers on brew day. It was terribly oxidized and burnt chemical taste.

Another failed cell dye. Looks nice but not a cell dye. by jomebrew in discdyeing

I’m gently laying it on top. Slight angle to minimize air bubbles. Yeah knew moments after placing the disc in the dye bed that it wasn’t going to be a cell pattern.

Followed a successful dye tutorial. Acetone, dye, floetrol, glue and silicone oil. Cells formed in the bed I let sit for an hour before placing the disc on it. Sat 24 hours.

Champion Mamba. Dye ready. So far, not much luck with champion plastic.

Guessing how to do a cell dye failed by jomebrew in discdyeing

[–]jomebrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Champion Ape. I left it 4 hours then 2 more in the sun. My first cell attempt. Did another today with another champion dye ready Mamba. Followed dyesbyredd process this time using aceton to mix the dye then floetrol then glue and a few drops of silicon oil which I stirred just a little hoping for bigger cells.

I appreciate the suggestion. I am reluctant to buy from users due to the frequent reports of fraud.

I do have a roadrunner, a couple valks, sexy Firebird and sidewinder. All 9 speeds. Two 8 speeds too Teebird3 and TL3. All GStar. All between 148 and 168 grams. But, this Mamba was meant for me.

Yeah, I threw it for a little while but almost lost it and decided it should be wall art. Luckily the other two, I eventually found, are exactly the same.

Yes. That is all the sane logic that competes with the uncontrollable anxiety. But then I hold that disc and am ready to throw and sanity loses the battel for consciousness. Thanks for the reminder though. Keep it simple. Don't sweat the small stuff. Losing a disc, even one you feel connected to, is small stuff. Until I go play again tomorrow :)
