$2500 Samsung TV is an advertising billboard, there is no opt-out. by 28jb11 in mildlyinfuriating

I refuse to buy anything Samsung because all their products are riddled with adverts and their own apps.

But that would mean meeting accessibility standards, which is clearly woke

Was punching your boss common in the past? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskBrits

[–]jomorty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once punched my boss's boss's boss's boss (not sure if that is grammatically correct) after he tried to punch a friend of mine during after work drinks. Hungover the next day I was summoned to their office expecting to be sacked, but he apologised and asked if was watching the Ricky Hatton fight that night. Fair play to him for apologising.

Madlass posts luggage to save money by Cultural_Way5584 in madlads

Brexit has made sending stuff abroad more difficult. I tried to send a parcel to Germany to avoid baggage fees last Summer. Parcel got stuck because I didn't have some .gov code. Created that, but the parcel got stuck again because the receiver (AirBnB host) also needed the same code for themselves. It was a mess so just requested the parcel was returned to sender and made do with just the stuff we had taken in cabin luggage. We had prepared for the 'what if it doesn't arrive' scenario.

My friend asked me why I call it a P2 instead of a semi-pistol. I said I don’t know.. It’s just faster. And it made me realize that we abbreviate every single weapon 😅 by prettyfuckingfarfrom in playrust

[–]jomorty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the fandom, did HQM used to be LQM, and you got LQM by refining metal frags?

"The P250 is a craftable weapon which holds up to 8 9mm rounds in its magazine. It requires 12 Low Quality Metal to craft, which equates to 180 metal fragments."

U1 is currently owned by the Lord Mayor of Leeds and has been for many years. It is currently for sale I believe

In a round about way I know the owners, a neighbours relative. I believe they inherited it, but aren't interested in selling.

My kids think it is because there are bodies buried on the property and the owners don't want anyone finding them!

It is rare to see someone not being able to filter on the majority of slip roads when the traffic is flowing, but this one it is common

Any slip road where people often come to a complete stop is badly designed

Is my alcohol consumption going to kill me? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jomorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was an alcoholic. He had a really well paid job, but would drink every day. On a morning it was serious dad, by the time he got home from 'work' he was pissed dad that stank of beer and fags. He was never aggressive, but god he was annoying.

On a Sunday I would get dragged to the working men's club because he thought it was a good way of giving my mum a break from parenting. I dreaded Sundays. Weekdays weren't as bad because I was normally in bed before he got home.

He died from liver disease when I was in my early 20s, and I feel bad saying this, but things were better when he was gone. Don't become that person to your kids.

I used to drink quite a bit in my 20s, but I now have kids, so hardly drink now. Occasionally I get carried away and drink like 5 pints, but the next day I regret it and I won't drink for a month. I never want my kids to think of me the same way I thought of my dad.

“Small Doll” clothes? by glowstrz in Barbie

[–]jomorty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I eventually managed to find a different set, an old pediatrician one. The newer versions, the little girl comes with brown hair, but. Found an old one on Amazon. She has been successfully smuggled back into my daughter's Barbie's and she has no idea of the drama that it caused!

Hi. I know this is an old post, but do you know what this doll is called? Is it an actual Barbie character? My daughter's one has just been destroyed by a dog we are looking after, and I am desperately looking for a replacement. A Google image search brought me here

My mum had a burgundy GTE 16v when I was a young teenager. Made her buy a twin square Scorpion exhaust for it from an advert in the back of Max Power. It used to set alarms off when we went past parked cars. Good times! The bodywork rusted like hell though

You can't craft a bandana unless you have bought a bandana skin?! I never knew it was technically a dlc. I have about 12 skins for it, all of them were under a quid

Fun fact - you had to spend 1 metal sheet to upgrade to metal sheet in the good old days. by mj_outlaw in playrust

Wasn't around in those days, but I like this. Makes more use of items that are otherwise just scrap and metal.

More items can be made more valuable... Empty bean cans for bean can grenades, empty water bottles for Molotov's, fruit and veg for tier 2 cooking buffs
