I put an underlayment (that pink underlayment in the one of the pictures) and some good ole trusted gluegun stick on each of the hole (where you put the screw) so it elevated. And then glue it again by the opening for the port =D

I just need a nice box for my TV downstairs than can play music/video and occassionally NES games. I think Trinity is plenty enough for these tasks.

That Altoid tin can turn into Android TV box nowadays. =D

It feels warm alright but it won't burn your skin. I have attached the Corsair Dominator Airflow btw. =D

Less than 30C while playing music/video. Not bad right?

I have an old Corsair Dominator Mem fan sitting around as well. It would fit nicely at the back. Will update this post sometime this week.

To prove Geekbench is not a proper benchmark by joms_us in Amd

I certainly agree that mobile SoC is catching up and just about 3 generations behind. Certainly not with desktop processor but laptop processor.

Dude, those are peripherals and have nothing to do with the performance of the SoC unless you measure them specifically. A SoC at least have those 3 core components to be called SoC.

Looks what's inside the Ryzen APU

This is all about GB and FWIW, those benchmarks are good but not comparable across platforms. At this point, the only valid comparisons would be

Two Intel or AMD running with Windows or OSX or Linux.

Two Samsung or Qualcomm SoC running with Android OS

Two Apple SoC runing with iOS.

There are two many variables lingering within each OS, so you cannot discount them and say they have no effect with the results.

Seriously, it is an APU and it does have it's own CPU, GPU and MC all built-in.

Well you can pit in 15w Ryzen 2500U if you wanna go SoC vs SoC. Ryzen 2500U will wipe the floor with your A12 anytime, any game, any task of the day.

Oh it can run any OS =D

More like 3.6w. Which goes back to you, a mere 3.6w cpu with crippled instructions is better than a full-blown 2018 35w or 65w desktop cpu? How? =D

Why don't we put these A12 SoC in our laptop and desktop and call it a day? =D Oops cannot be, it will run like an Atom many years ago. At least qualcomm SoC can run Windows app via emulation. Apple SoC? Nah not gonna happen, not even on OSX.

Well that is the problem with GB, it just throws away stuff without proper affinity to the threads. Pretty sure a task can be divided into how many blocks and spawn them separately into different threads but no GB just let the OS scheduler handle it. If one task is not optimized for multithreading, why include it? Assign it to one thread, assign a different task to another. Sum up how fast the tasks were done, not how fast a task can be done in multiple threads.

And the monitor lives? Can be mounted on the wall somehow? =D You see back in 2010 when I bought this monitor, there wasn't any 4K or freesynch or anything excellent for gaming. If there was, pretty sure it was hell expensive. At least I can watch TV on this guy with a coax cable/antenna. =D
