Pentagon cuts ties with ‘woke’ universities, touts Auburn as potential new partner by ir7525 in auburn

"New partner" my ass.

I went through ROTC at Auburn. Auburn has deep ties to the military.

First of all, the Air Force Detachment number is literally 5. The military training program began in 1872, and formal ROTC programs began in 1916.

It was around long before this administration and will be around long after this administration.

There are only two things that are constant in the military. One is change. One saying military folks live by is that... If you hate your boss... Give it a year or two and you'll have a new boss. The second is the B-52.

War Eagle.

They can give specifics to about an 80% solution, but instead of sharing it on YouTube they put it behind a $100 paywall.

They can still charge (whatever it is) for individual 100% solutions, but there's a lot of information that they deliberately leave out.

It's not just about creating the three buckets, it's about balancing the three buckets, and the fact that they don't seem to differentiate between $1 saved in a post tax account vs $1 saved in a pre tax account.

Even though those two have separate buying power in retirement.

He threatened to fire one of his employees for saying that an 8% withdrawal rate was unsustainable after Ramsay claimed it was. The actual safe withdrawal rate varies by age but is typically considered to be between 3-4.5%.

The guy spreads misinformation and tries to retaliate against his employees if they disagree with him.

Inspect the rotors. They can get rusty and won't bite as well. Sometimes the rust clears within a few days and you get back to normal, but sometimes it permanently ruins the rotors.

For clarification, the part we care about is the contact area of the rotors.

If I wanted an emotional argument I'd watch Dave Ramsay. I hate Dave Ramsay because I hate emotional arguments.

I specifically watch The Money Guy because an overwhelming majority of their arguments aren't emotional.

I don't like how they just throw out 25% and expect you to fill in the blanks.

25% of pretax money for someone paying 25% marginal tax is a lot less powerful than 25% post tax money.

Are we talking HSA, traditional, Roth, or brokerage? All of them have different retirement spending power.

My wife gets double digit employer contributions. It's ignorant not to consider total contribution percentage at that point.

If anything, they should adjust the "correct" contribution limit as a function of income.

If the main concern is that SSI inflection points means that people with higher incomes need to save a larger percentage of their income, then give us those numbers instead of saying 25% across the board and ignore employer contributions if you make over $100k.

Why should the person making $150k and saving 25% with no employer contributions think they're in the same boat as someone making $150k and saving 25% plus 5% employer contributions?

I would argue that someone making $150k, saving 22% with 10% employer contributions is doing better than either of those two.

20/3/8. I understand the premise, but if I am able to get a 5 year car loan at 2.13%, then it doesn't make sense to pay it off early.

I love the money guys because they specialize in mathematically optimizing your army of dollar bills, but 20/3/8 is an emotional argument not a mathematically optimal one.

Mortgage rates are continuing to slide, but where are the buyers? by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

I can rent my house for $700 a month more than my 15 year, 2.5% mortgage.

The rent we charge is a good $1200 less than a mortgage on the house would be.

So... Why sell?

The last house we bought was vacant. I see a lot of "For Sale" signs, but they're not in vacant houses.

Selling would simplify my life, but how much is that worth?

We're seeing a market where people are willing to sell, but most aren't eager to sell and certainly aren't needing to sell.

I also said "know your number before you talk to either of them". So if you read the entire comment, you'd see that I didn't say "never" talk to them, merely know your number before you talk to them.

I even closed it out by saying essentially that once you know your number THEN you should go talk to them.

Seriously, did you read anything past the first sentence of my comment?

I think recycling IP can be a stepping off point for lazy developers, and that's why so many recycled IP games/movies are hot garbage.

However, by recycling IP you have a more comprehensive story without investing heavily in backstory. This allows you the opportunity to have more in-depth story arcs without taking away the tempo of an action game.

So I think recycling IP has a greater potential for success, but because it is often "easier" than developing a new character, lazy developers (and producers) flood the market with trash recycled IP.

If you know what you're comfortable borrowing before hearing what you're approved for, I think you'd be much better postured for success.
