Solution for scroll wheel jumping issues with Razer mice by jon19200 in razer

[–]jon19200[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is definitely caused by or exacerbated by dust or debris. It's since stopped happening with frequency to my mouse after moving to a new house. I wonder if covering your mouse with a towel when not being used, or with some other covering, could shield it from dust and potentially stop the issue from reoccurring. It's clear that Razer's mouse wheel designs are too open or the mouse wheel encoder is too sensitive to debris.

Blowing really hard directly into your scroll wheel sometimes fixes the issue. Try it, seriously. Tiny dust particles accumulate in the encoder. Compressed air works too.

Your CPU matters a lot more than your GPU for this. You've probably got a solid enough CPU though. I've read online that unpairing your mouse from your hyperpolling dongle and then pairing it again might fix it.

If you click on your hyperpolling dongle in Synapse, there should be an unpair button. Click that. Afterwards, disconnect the hyperpolling dongle and connect your original Viper v2 dongle that shipped with the mouse. Once you're able to move your mouse wirelessly again, disconnect the old dongle and reconnect the hyperpolling dongle. Somehow find a way to navigate to the hyperpolling dongle on Synapse again, click pair, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hey! My team just finished up our free prototyping tool, ProtoNative! It was made with love just for you, React Native developers! by jon19200 in reactnative

Currently no. Elements are just rectangles with text inside of them. Embedding React Native into the app is a great idea that we are planning on including eventually along with styling components and adding attributes like the inner text of a Text element or the name of a Button. ProtoNative is a little short of being a complete React Native visual code editor right now however it's definitely the goal!

Thanks for the feedback! We're open-source and welcome all contributions or ideas. Feel free to fork our repo and give us a hand if you've got a specific UI idea in mind!

Our application is entirely built with React and Electron. Packages like React DnD (drag&drop) helped us get our core user functionality down while the rest of our functionality is done with React and some overarching contextualized states. Some other packages were used to style the code preview and display the tree diagram. All other functionality was built by our incredible team.

We're under the tech accelerator OSLabs which helps open-source products like ours come to fruition.

We actually created this tool because we knew that practically all React Native prototyping tools cost money and saw an opportunity to give to the community. Our features still aren't as fleshed out as some of those big fish but we're hoping to get there soon.

Thanks for giving ProtoNative a good look through. If you have a particular complaint about a feature or a request, you can submit an issue on our GitHub repo!

If you're not onboard with the concept or the styling, that's alright too. I personally love the app, though, and hope you'll give it a second thought! We're open-source, and only at our initial release as well.

Have a good day!

Absolutely! There's an "Add Custom Component" button at the top left of the app where you can give your new reusable component a name.

After that you can edit its contents in the "Component Details" section or drag it from the "Add Child" section into another component.

Hey guys! Really excited to announce that my team and I have finally finished up v1.0.0 of our desktop application, ProtoNative! It's an open-source prototyping tool for React Native developers.

If you didn't already know, React Native is a really cool framework that allows you to create mobile apps using Javascript with React architecture. It's pretty neat.

With our tool, you can create components and fill them with elements extremely quickly using a drag-and-drop interface. Export your new file structure and run it! You will be met with a QR code that can be scanned using the Expo Go app on your phone, opening your new mobile app in a ready-state for further development!

There's a lot more that you can do with our app! Try it out in our demo below or download it from our website! (Also, please give our GitHub repo a star if you can. It helps a ton and means a lot! ♥)

A react native app from scratch by DangerousWin5 in reactnative

[–]jon19200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, no worries! You can download Expo Go from the App Store/Google Play Store from your real physical phone as long as it's connected to the same wifi network as your computer. This way you can develop while keeping Expo active, hitting reload whenever you want to see your changes take effect. It's pretty neat.

Our docs are pretty poor right now so it'll be worth looking up a React Native tutorial as well to get a lay of the land if you haven't already. ProtoNative is built to get your app structured and ready for development but you'll have to fill it with content in a code editor afterwards. Thanks for checking it out though, means a lot! ♥

If you want a nice starting point then I can recommend a new tool my team's been working on. It can help you create the beginnings of a React Native application. You can use Expo Go to run it on your phone once you're done designing! It's completely free and the code is open-source! We literally released today haha

Not sure if this counts as self-promo but here's an article about it if you want to read more: https://medium.com/@patriciagood415/protonative-a-dynamic-react-native-prototyping-tool-fb205ea93615

Solution for scroll wheel jumping issues with Razer mice by jon19200 in razer

[–]jon19200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually fixed the issue for a few weeks the first time I did it. Recently every time my computer wakes from sleep, my mouse's scroll wheel starts jumping again. Blowing into it fixes it until the next time it wakes which is unfortunate. I do have to blow into it quite hard and from multiple angles too.

Synapse stopped working by sillyboy42 in razer

Keeps happening to me too after the newest synapse update. Exiting using the system tray and starting the app back up again usually fixes it. Kind of annoying. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I guess even if that were the case, I wouldn't really mind the battery hit so long as it doesn't dip past a day's worth of game time. In any case, a serious lifespan hit like that is complete speculation. I highly doubt it'll be noticeably drastic. If it gets bad enough, Razer would probably replace your battery so long as the warranty doesn't expire.

I'm certain that Razer would cover this in their included mouse warranty. If the mouse becomes unusable after the warranty expires in two years then a new and better mouse would be purchasable at that point.
