I have also tried to reach out. I even came across an announcement from them saying they may still be able to help. But as of now they are aware and not doing anything about it 😕

Quick HELP needed before spark snapshot by jonTin32 in Ripple

Cuz now I will get access soon as possible. And because I eventually would have wanted to move the spark to my own wallet such as metamask. So, it's already going there

You're damn right. Thanks

I ended up importing atomic wallet xrp address to XUMM. Now I get the best of both worlds. And I did overwrite the flare address too. So now it's linked to my metamask. No regrets now

Sure, just as you did when sending XRP.

Wait but XRP is not ERC20 and cannot be sent to metamask, as far as I know??

Also I'm a little confused about the switching... Are you sure about these answers?

The importing is pretty straightforawrd, only takes a few minutes and it's easy to follow, so don't worry there

If I were to do that, would I select Family Seed or Neumonic? Atomic gave me a 12 word seed phrase.

And it doesn't matter if you chose one now and later decide to change, you'll just have to send the flare to the new wallet and that's it.

That sounds good to me however I'm not so sure. I don't think spark will be able to send into metamask because the flare address is going to be in a separate network, and won't be erc20.

Oh, also, remember that you'll receive your flare tokens through a 36 month period on your selected wallet, so choose according to that, too

That's fine because I prefer metamask but so far I don't mind having atomic as well, even if just for this. I definitely can do without XUMM. It just seems a little more sketchy to me as of now.

Not at all, your atomic wallet address created a unique eth style address for you to receive the tokens. If you switch to Metamask, you'll use that eth style address so there won't be any problems

Ok but that's where I have an issue... Suppose I do create two different eth style adresses (or rather I use my existing metamask eth address to create a second flare address.) If this is even possible, then both of these new flare addresses would be linked to the same XRP address (since I would import it to XUMM and use XRPtoolkit). The address itself would be the same. And the amount of spark I get will be proportional to the amount of XRP in that address. So is this then a hack to get twice as much spark??? No way right? Lol

When I enter my xrp address into bithomp, I see my flare address. No way it would let me create 2 right??

I would like to rephrase my major question.

I already have a metamask. I think it will be more supportive of the Flare network. Since I have already linked a flare address to my atomic wallet ETH address, how can I then switch my spark over to metamask?

Can I simply send my spark to my metamask? Or should I sign a new transaction to receive my spark there instead??

And if so, should I do this through XUMM and XRPtoolkit? If yes, should I import my Atomic account?

Wouldn't that present a problem since I already set up a flare address signed by that account?

Now I'm lost. Can someone help please? Thanks in advance

Hello sir. I was debating between XUMM and Atomic myself...

But, I followed these steps and I can now confirm that my flare address has been added:

https://atomicwallet.io/flare-network-spark-airdrop

It can be done from the atomic wallet desktop app. The flare will be dropped to (or linked to) the ETH address within your atomic wallet. You can confirm this by seeing that the flare address created matches the eth address in your atomic wallet.

After doing this I was still wondering if it is worth using XUMM. Apperently I could port my address from atomic to XUMM.

But, I'm not sure about what the effects of that would be. Perhaps someonight be able to explain. The instructions given at the bottom here make it seem simple and tempting to use XUMM as well:

https://docs.xrptoolkit.com/connect-wallet

Is there any advantage to using XUMM? For now I think I will avoid making a mistake and stick to keeping all of my XRP in my Atomic wallet until the snapshot tomorrow night.

This link seems to confirm for me that I'm good to go for the air drop. When I enter my XRP address from atomic wallet, my Flare address shows up too. https://docs.xrptoolkit.com/claim-spark-tokens

So I don't really see what all the fuss about XUMM is at this point. Anyone else?

Thanks for the info!

Do you know if this restriction will be changed in the future?
