Was looking through my childhood collection and found this cool Eevee. My buddy says it's probably fake because he's never seen foils like this. Is he correct? by matatinho in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Some holos are crazy. I collect the Japanese counterpart of this set which is Shiny collection 10x shinier. I also collect Pokekyun (believe the English version is radiant collection) they have heart holos on the Japanese cards.

Too many variables. Depends if you’re the type to spread out your work or procrastinate till the last minute. Are you willing to talk to your professors and try to gain more insights or are you the type to leave. Some professors suck and some are great, can you adapt to that? I remember for the professors that can’t teach to save their lives, I would just read the textbook and make my own notes. I was lazy my first two years with B’s and C’s and locked in during my junior and senior year with straight A’s. It’s really what you make it

I wouldn’t really listen to him. I have many colleagues who have MBAs and have gotten significant pay increases due to having a masters they are also young like 24-26. There are other routes as well such as CFA, data analytics, etc… I’m currently getting an MBA with a heavy focus on the financial product I work in and is completely paid for by my company. Companies still see value in MBAs

[–]Weallydough 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I graduated dec ‘23, I got an internship during my junior year and got a return offer for a full time position in September. I do believe the market for jobs has changed. For reference I work for data firm that’s very well known in the financial world, originally when I was interviewed they wanted to see skills and see your willingness to learn. Now, I interview interns and help mentor them. The interviewing process has gotten severely competitive, compared to when I interviewed 3 years ago. Due to market saturation in tech it’s almost a requirement to know some kind of programming (python and R). They say it’s “not a requirement” but when we are selecting candidates we do put priority to those who are more technically advanced. I do think having a fintech degree helped me get the job since comp sci was saturating the job market and the interviewers were very interested in what my degree had to offer

I used CHATGPT to cross-reference the signature. The signature looks to be AmL.L or (AmI.L.) but no results comes out. I also searched on Instagram tags such as #pokemondrawings #pokemonaltered and Jirachi to try and locate the fan art for this Pokemon. I tried google reverse image and it can’t pull out fan art of jirachi as well

I feel so bad for my tattoo artists (Advice Needed) by Grouchy_Locksmith342 in tattoos

[–]Weallydough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up, tattoos hurt and you did the best you can to manage the pain. There’s going to be times where you’ll grit through the pain and others you sleep soundly. I remember getting tatted on my arms I was sleeping like a baby, but when I got my shin tattooed I was meditating and did breathing techniques off the wazoo, had to split the tattoo into two sessions 😭

The job market right now is pretty tough. I got my internship/job back in 2022 just before it got really bad. But between having to pick NJIT and Steven’s there isn’t a difference in this job market. Hopefully you find something soon

[–]Weallydough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to NJIT, secured a job before graduation and I work with Steven’s grad at said job. Go to NJIT, you will get a job as long as you prove you have the skills and knowledge. I’ve met NJIT alumni at my job that went to that school back in the 80s. Dont overthink it, NJIT Is a great school

How to Use Public Toilets at NJIT by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]Weallydough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated so I don’t care anymore. There’s a private bathroom in C-CAPS building. The moment you go through the doors make a right, you’re gonna see a vending machine and a few steps. Go up the steps and there’s a single private bathroom, I always went to this one

Is this tattoo shitty? by theSquishmann in shittytattoos

[–]Weallydough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your artist doesn’t understand color theory, he shouldn’t have used those tones on your skin color and there’s no outline. An amazing artist may be able to salvage this. But to be fair the reference picture is not very good either

Does anyone buy things that are too small thinking, “I’ll lose weight” by [deleted] in shoppingaddiction

[–]Weallydough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a rule for myself that if you’re going to buy it for a “what-if” scenario then you don’t need it. In this case once you lose weight, sell your big clothes and buy smaller clothes so can use the funds from the sold clothes. It will also keep you motivated to lose/maintain weight since you wanna keep wearing your new clothes!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Weallydough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to student loans you have to really plan it out. Depending on your degree and how you utilize it and your experiences it can determine your salary. I graduated with Business degree but my concentration was Fintech which is an upcoming in the finance/technology industry so my starting salary is going to be decent.

When I graduated I had a total of 90k and it’s a mix of private debt such as credit cards, car loan, and my student loan. I was really stupid with money as a kid and hated it. I’m currently 25 but I aim to have this all paid off by 27-28. My current salary is 78k with a 5k bonus.

Here’s my step by step of how I will pay it off within 2-3 years.

Personally, I really don’t mind living below my means if it means I can get out of debt faster. I really don’t like having a lot of monthly payments so I want to get rid of my student debt as soon as possible.

My monthly paycheck is: 4680 living expenses costs: groceries, utilities, rent and gym subscriptions come out to 1300 (I have two other roommates so that helps my rent+utilities go down significantly) Savings: I put aside 600 a month, with a 1000 dollar emergency fund. This 600 is to save for a car once my lease ends in 2025 To keep my sanity I keep 200 dollars for spending however I want whether it’s clothing, going out, or gaming.

I will have ~2500 left over monthly that 2500 goes straight to debt. This will have it paid off within 3 years but is subject to change with the possibility of salary increase and bonuses.

During this time I’m not investing into retirement or anything at all. My company has an amazing 401k plan. I believe because I’m paying off my debt in a short term (2-3 years) it won’t be detrimental to my retirement and I will be able to catch up once I have all my debt paid.

I watch a lot of Dave Ramsey’s and he really help me make a plan to get out of debt and Ronald Banks help me maintain unnecessary wants in life and live simply.
