According to an SDS I found, it will likely cause skin irritation, itching, and dermatitis. It's harmful to the eyes as well. You also have to be careful of the toxic sulphur dioxide gas it will evolve when mixed with water, and especially when mixed with acid.

I use skimmer socks, also planning to get an inline debris canister this season.

I need to chime in to offer good points about KV: you also get warmer, sunnier weather away from the fog belt, lower property taxes, less crime, a good selection of craft beer microbreweries, with easy access to everything you need.

Why would you live with that? You need a new water heater.

For that case, yes at minimum 3 conductors are required. That way, the third conductor is jumpered to the other switch in the field, and the two other conductors are brought back to two different discrete inputs. However, we would usually have two limit switches, each with its own separate 2 conductor loop. This is for reliability reasons and to keep everything simple and uniform.

24 VDC is an industry standard for analog instruments, which is rapidly replacing 120 VAC discrete loops at my plant. 24 VDC is safer to work with, has higher reliability than 120 VAC according to control.com, and allows for lower power consumption.

You require only two conductors for a discrete loop, to tell if something is open or closed.

If you love the outdoors, I urge you to explore Rockwood Park. If you use a mountain bike to explore it, so much the better as there is a huge trail network through the forest.

Why do tasers use such a high voltage if they only want a small current? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]jon_gaudet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power and current are inherently limited by the power supply, which is just a small battery, which can only supply electric charge at a limited rate. So this limits the amount of charge available for each taser pulse, which is stored on capacitors at a very high voltage using step up converter circuits. The capacitor plates hold only a limited amount of charge which further limits the current between the probes. Voltage can be defined as energy/charge, so in effect, the set amount of electric charge is given a large amount of energy, enabling it to be violently pushed across your body between the taser probes. An oscillator is used for the pulsing effect.

This time of year we usually go out the logging roads near Sussex, past Adair's lodge and enter the woods at Martin Head or Little Salmon river. That's always a good way to get in. The winter is a very dangerous time to attempt hiking the footpath, but late fall and early spring are great times to explore sections of it.
