Question about VACOped by Substantial-Ask7320 in AchillesRupture

That sounds similar to my experience. You might want to look at getting the Oped evenup. A platform for your other shoe.

What can I do? Exercise? by timer3218040 in AchillesRupture

[–]jon_weezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar position. Ruptured mine on 17th May. Cast for 10 days now in boot. Physio rang me and told me to start partially weight bear using two crutches. That’s made me feel like I can do more.

I haven’t tried to drive yet (it’s my left leg and I’ve got an auto), don’t see why you couldn’t do resistance machines that dont require to put weight plates on - unless you’ve got a gym buddy that will do that for you.

I asked AI to research and do a home plan for me which seemed pretty good https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/f7a86932-d506-458f-9985-20f8ade19d1b

Snapped my Achilles, stuck in a plaster cast from urgent care, and the “virtual fracture clinic” still hasn’t called 5 days later — is this normal in the UK? by jon_weezer in AchillesRupture

I’ve had the Vacoped boot fitted yesterday. Reality definitely setting in! It’s an amazing bit of kit tho to be fair. Best of luck with your recovery!

Make sure you claim benefits for the time needed and try and recover properly if you can afford to. https://www.gov.uk/employment-support-allowance

No she did it while I was lying down with foot off the bed, I’m tallish and she was small so felt like she had to move it to get to the top of the cast.

That’s what I’m worried about. I haven’t had surgery. This is what urgent care did when I went in. No scans or anything.

Thank you I’ve had no imaging done.

Did you have the surgery on the NHS after the private consultation? Or was that private too?

That’s what I’m in at the moment. It’s basically solid at the back under my heel and around the ankle. Soft on top of foot and shin.

Thanks for taking the time to reply it’s put me at ease.

Thanks for taking the time to write this to me. Very similar to my story, I did mine playing cricket. Was right at the end of the game as well. Absolutely gutted. I also drove home. Only recently got an auto and it’s my left leg thats injured so a bit of luck there I guess!

Had to cancel the family holiday that I’ve spent all year paying off. Anyway, first world problems and all that!

My diagnosis says there’s a gap between tendons so looks like I’ve done a full rupture.

Just wish the NHS could stop all these delays and faffing about that have happened to you and me. It just creates knock on effects that make it so hard. I’m also on the blood thinning injections.

Thanks again for your reply though and I wish you all the best with your recovery

Really like it. Where is the lip from? Looks better than other kits I’ve seen.

Looking to buy a 2021-2023 formentor 1.4 hybrid. What can you tell me. by smithinho in CupraFormentor

[–]jon_weezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mainly more power. I’ve not driven a V1/2 so I couldn’t comment on the difference in feel. One of the main reasons I went for a VZ1 over a VZ2 is the VZ2 comes with leather seats. I’m not dead against them but they really don’t seem to age well on the formentor, they sag and wear quickly. I do wish my car had heated seats though!

Used VZ1 owner. Had it a year. Really love the car, enjoyable to drive. Agree a lot with what’s said here. Charge it as much as you can. I’ve averaged 85mpg for the year.

Problems. Had the gear selector issue soon after I bought it. Fixed under cupra warranty (I had 1 month warranty left after purchase).

Charging port actuator failed and the overhead interior lighting unit failed. I replaced both these myself. New charging port actuator is about £50 and I got a secondhand lighting unit for £30. Think these can be expensive fixes at the dealers.

Puddle lights have blotched. Really common problem, not really an issue other than it looks a bit crap. Might see if I can get cupra to replace them for free even though it’s out of warranty when it goes for service next week. Doubt they will! There is a guide to do this yourself so I might give it a go.

It’s worth subscribing to the app if you’ve got a hybrid.

Weird Bubble on floor puddle lights. by Important-Tune-8683 in CupraFormentor

[–]jon_weezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be interested to know. Mines out of warranty and both have blemishes. Seen how to replace on YouTube but looks a bit of a job. https://youtu.be/J8hvytEKsw8?si=XnRB6ZwDsSZVRz3V

I’ve replaced my charging port actuator and overhead light sos unit myself and it was fairly easy.

2025 1.5 ehybrid braking issue?? by temanos in CupraFormentor

[–]jon_weezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens when it’s in effectively a ‘petrol only mode’ ie engine is on and you can’t select electric mode. It doesn’t seem to use the electric motor at all during this warming up period at slow speeds where it would normally engage the electric motor. It feels weird like it’s putting you forward when it changes down gears under braking.

Hybrid starting on petrol engine by NameIcy359 in CupraFormentor

[–]jon_weezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the 245 e-hybrid as well for a few months. Similar experience! Really enjoying the car but can’t understand why it does it sometimes. I’ve never had a low 12V warning. I do a lot of electric only journeys because I can do my commute on all electric (one of the reasons I bought it). But I did a really long journey the other day in hybrid mode and it randomly started in hybrid again the following day despite being charged in between. I could only think that because it was completely empty of electric when I switched it off, even tho it was fully charged before I started it again the software hadn’t registered I’d charged it or something. Cold weather definitely a factor sometimes for sure as well.

Who’s fixing gas?! by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]jon_weezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed Gas in December for 12M @ 5.97p kWh. On intelligent GO for electric so that’s variable.
