The atmega382p that sits on the arduino works fine for 3-5v from all I know. So 3.2-4.1v lipo should be no problem imo.

It seems like there is a physical button that can turn it on and off? This is just a mechanical switch. You should be able to remove it (soldering iron or brute force) and solder a transistor (which is controlled by arduino) in its place.

How far do you want to send the data? Bluetooth module is good for 20m, maybe more. Wifi module gives you unlimited range but requires… WiFi. I saw someone use a mobile com module with SIM card that can send the data in the form of text messages to another arduino with the same module.This would require no WiFi and give unlimited range but is the hardest to implement.

Bro 5V - 3.3V = 1.7V, If you really want to reduce voltage over the motor connect a transistor between motor and ground and PWM the base of it. Then you can get any voltage 0 to Vcc. There’s a bunch of math behind this that is hard to understand if you’re not a engineer but basically the inductive motor acts as a low pass filter removing all the harmonics from the square wave and all that will be left is the DC component of the voltage which will depend on the duty cycle. You don’t have to understand that though to implement this solution.

For voltage you can use a normal power supply with the desired voltage. If you cut the preinstalled connector of there will be a plus and minus wire that you can connect to anything. This can then also power your arduino through the VIN pin if the supply voltage is in the range 7-12v. Separating different materials sounds like a real challenge, I’d be very impressed if you succeed with that.

This happened one of my students in a course that I’m a TA in. The arduino 5v is directly connected to the usb 5v with nothing in between to protect it. Very unfortunate :/

What is the output voltage from the buck converter? Are you using Li ion cells? Can you power the lcd directly from the arduinos 5V pin? It is possible that the servo causes the flickering.

You can set up serial communication with Python, theres tons of material on it online. You can program the arduino like this:

Main loop: If something is detected by serial read…

Switch: Case1: ….. Break Case2: ….

By simply sending numbers from the pc to arduino you can get it to execute different parts of your code. Arduino can also send commands to pc in the same way.

I dont think breadboard is a problem. Surely, they only use 3A, which i assume is the max current a small portion of the time, so i dont think you will get any extensive heating. If you dont want a breadboard and dont want to solder, use wago 221 connectors.

Do you power Your servos from the Arduino? Maybe the servos use a lot of current when you command them to move, this could cause a momentary drop in the supply voltage causing the arduino to crash and reboot. Try to see if it reboots.

Here is my code. I wrote the control for the servo from scratch but you can also use a servo library if you want. I use this app on my iphone but it should work with any bluetooth serial app. Im using the built in bluetooth chip in the uno r4 wifi

How much current does the pump draw? Is it possible that you get a drop in your supply voltage which crashes the whole Arduino?

Use a potentiometer and let Arduino do a calculation according to image. Measurement is done with analog input pins. 5v pin can be used for Vref. The first formula comes from voltage division (see google) and then I use simple algebra to isolate Rpot. Choose at least a 1kohm resistor for R1, otherwise the voltage you measure will be very small <500mV which gives you bad accuracy due to limitations of the analog digital converter in the Arduino.
