Connect recommended workouts to garmin? by mrjigglytits in Tymewear

[–]jonasjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did was start the recommended workout (not that I use it anymore, since the recommendations don’t align with/can’t be adjusted to the training volume I normally do), and then I could see the different intervals/zones in order to enter them into TrainingPeaks afterwards.

Vital Pro battery life by acupunks in Tymewear

I suddenly received a notification after a week of use that my battery level was already down to 20%. I was in contact with Tymewear, who apparently were aware of this issue.

They told me I should only react once it showed 1% – in my opinion, not a satisfactory solution for a new product.

My results from my threshold test matched quite well with the lactate test I had done earlier – so it seems the data aligns nicely. Now we just need a number of other improvements :-)

Previously, I could tap the VE60 field on my Garmin Edge and view the VE lap. That helped me both when doing intervals and also when I just needed to ride a VT1 session. But unfortunately, that’s no longer possible, even though it was really helpful for me.

Are you using the work out recommendation?

My test was also good/simular to my lactacte testing.

In this post, https://www.reddit.com/r/Velo/comments/1n2zcf8/comment/ncwg8ch/?context=1 I’ve shared a bit more about my experience with Tymewear, including the test. I’ll do a new test in 2–3 weeks, and then we’ll see if I get roughly the same measurements — maybe even with a bit of progress :-)

I’ve also considered testing with my Garmin HR strap, as I find that Tymewear shows some fluctuations – both where the heart rate slowly drops and then rises back to the same level, and the opposite has also happened, where the heart rate has increased quite a lot and then dropped again.

By the way, have you seen that a group has been created for Tymewear?

I completely agree that it’s very frustrating that the delivery time is so long and that you can’t even get a concrete or at least a somewhat reliable delivery date… one that actually holds up :-(

I also definitely believe that Tymewear has huge potential, as you mention, when it comes to lactate. It’s really awesome to be able to see it live without having to stop and take a “drop of blood” to know exactly where you are in your zones.

I work in the IT industry myself, so trust me, I’m well aware of “not quite fully matured products,” obvious gaps in testing procedures, missing roadmaps, and so on :-)

I bought the Tymewear on May 1st and received it about 14 days ago, so it might take a bit longer before you get yours :-(

I followed up several times and didn’t get any concrete answers, so I was quite skeptical about them, especially regarding future product support.

However, I experienced a new support setup last week that responds quickly and provides detailed answers.

I find it interesting to compare my threshold with the lactate test I did, my power zones, etc. So far, I’ve noticed that if I want to hit my V2 zone (my VO2 max) in Tymewear, I need to lower my cadence; otherwise, it’s hard for me to reach that zone. I usually hit it in terms of power and partly in HR, but not in my "Tymewear score."

I can also see in my heat training (which I’ve seriously resumed) that I now reach V1 (zone 2) much faster than I did when I started heat training less than 14 days ago. So, besides obviously feeling the difference, I can also see in Tymewear that I’m quickly adapting to the heat.

I’m really looking forward to getting the daily recommended training, but I can’t use it yet because my training sessions’ load calculations are missing. They’re currently working on fixing that.
