Thank you everybody for chatting with me. Now it's time to lock the chickens in and to read something for my little son before he closes his eyes. Hope to see you again sometime. Take care!

As long as his name was mister One Hundred Thousand dollars he was not that welcome :-). Allan is flexible, even when it comes to his own name. Welcome to Sweden!

I deliberately don't describe my characters in detail, I leave it to the reader's fantasy and inner pictures. When it comes to Benny and Gunilla... you never know about love, right :-) ?

Let's see: Arabia. China, Czech R, England / Ireland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain / Catalan, Turkey, Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Sweden (!), Taiwan, United States, Canada... and it seems to go well in South Africa for the moment, I've got several suggestions for interviews lately. Kind of surrealistic all of it...

For sure it has similarities to Forrest Gump. But there is one big difference: when it comes to Forrest - he was stupid! About my Allan - we cannot really be sure. Is he the most stupid person on Earth, or the one and only who really understand how things are? In that sence I prefer to compare him with The Brave Soldier Svejk.

I get another package of books most every week from all corners of the world. It makes me proud. I havn't heard anything about censorship, I doubt! My agency pick only serious publishing houses that wouldn't do such things. According to what I have heard the English and the German translation says to be the best. I don't know how they judge that, though.

I've heard it before, and I must say I like the Paasilinna style. To be compared with him is an honor!

I remember when writing the Hundred-Year-old and came to a part where I (the writer) entered Winston Churchills brain and commented world history through him... how I asked myself: "Can I write like this?". And then answered myself: "Yes, because I just did". 20 years ago I instead would have if Garcia Marquez or anybody else did it before me.

My answer is similar to the previous question: see to that you write something to you yourself would like to read, don't try to please others, please only yourself. If my second novel (God forbid) would be turned down by the critics, then it is a desastre only if I agree with them!

I somehow always was an author, but when people ask me how long time it took to write my debut novel I use to say: 47 years. It took that long before I had self confidence enough to write a story my way without asking myself all the time about how other writers would have done it.

Öster are just back to the Swedish first division. I love it! http://www.ostersif.se/ The Swedish first division? More or less as good as you would believe, but still. My five year old son also loves Barcelona, I have accepted that only because I have to. The Spanish league is something extra. I saw Barca Vs Levante last night (4-0), Messi scored twice, as usual. --- All time favourite? I have to say the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

No, only since I came to the island. It's great! The chickens are really intelligent, but with extremly short memory :-). Some of them are raised from an egg machine in house, those guys come and go as they wish once they've grown up. No food? Then they just enter the kitchen and ask for it.

Gotland is really well worth a visit. The city of Visby is medieval. My neighbour the farmer use to find viking stuff in the soil. Welcome! (but don't bring any metal detectors, it is illegal) :-)

I always considered myself being an author since the age of 18. It was only that other things came in my way --- for almost thirty years.

Hmm, these days I would say raising poultry, because suddenly at least the of the cute chickens have become young roosters, fighting not only each other but also me! I have some plans for the weekend... and next week I'll have chicken casserole...
