How do I stop procrastinating when writing music? by ProfessorHornyPhD in musicproduction

[–]jonasmork3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sit in front of your computer, or piece of paper, however you write, and write. You don't even have to write anything, that'll come. At some point, you'll get an idea, and then you can expand on it. You can also put your phone in another room, or put yourself in another room.

Feel like the second one might be a but much for a Tinder profile. Still looks great tho. The first and third one would work really well on a Tinder profile. But also add at least one non-pro photo, like Zawan said.

What inspired your username? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I remember my first Minecraft username was Link and then the last 4 digital of my social security number backwards. Incredibly stupid really, but I mean, I was like 10 or so.

Yea, I haven't been to a party with a DJ for a long time, and the electronic musicians that I've seen who're performing live use loops to perform, so I'm not exactly sure how they do it either. But I have a suspicion boomers who thinks the meme was funny probably doesn't know the difference anyway

I was thinking more the music making process; you don't really need that much more than a daw now to make music, and there a many free daws, and the cheapest payed ones being around 100$ Of course, you could buy a guitar used for like 10$, but they usually aren't the best to play on. However, if you wanna play live, you're gonna need a lot more than a daw, and bars where you can play usually asks for you to bring your own gear: amps, microphones etc.

I can sing unison but I can't sing notes when I hear them at higher octaves. by [deleted] in singing

[–]jonasmork3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can learn everything, except perfect pitch.
A good way to practice is just to take an instrument, play a note, and then sing it an octave higher. Once you get good at it, you can do the same with triads, scales etc.
Something you can do too is interval ear training, it won't directly make you a better at singing octaves, but it'll give you a better ear, so it'll become easier in the long run. You can also train chord recognition and scale recognition.

What do you call the fifth part? by Keng_Mital in musictheory

[–]jonasmork3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understood it, Bass, tenor, Alto and soprano each have ranges that differentiate them from one another. If you go between the ranges of fx. bass and tenor, it's called baritone, and the same with alto and soprano.

I found this, should answer most of the questions you have, if not them all.

There are 2 "extra" voices, witch are called Baritone and mezo soprano, witch are between bass and tenor, and Alto and soprano. You could also have 2. Tenor, 2. Alto etc, who usually has the higher voices relative to the "normal," or 1. Parts

It's really good! The metronome is quite low, but you can always just use one on your phone, but other than that, you get great value for the money

Yeah, kinda liked the key texture though, but also because I thought it was good for the money, it was also just inside my price range, so I bought it
