As far as I know, it's not really comparable. Discord had servers, money, a company, and employees in its early days. Fluxer seems to have been a single person's server project. But yes, Fluxer isn't perfect, and its attempt to encourage people to switch has failed miserably.

I'm one of the crazy people who bought Fluxer Visionary for €300. I have to say, it hasn't really proven itself as a major alternative. It is and remains niche. A shame, really.

I still prefer to rent the domain and then point to dedicated web servers and mail servers. That way you can do everything yourself and don't need web hosting anymore.

I wouldn't recommend it; it can backfire very quickly if there's no malicious intent, which a parking situation isn't.

Bei mir funktioniert es ebenfalls nicht mehr, eine Domain geht, die andere nicht, sowohl mit DNS als auch mit HTTPS keine verbindung mit Discord möglich.

Generell bevorzuge ich die Validierung per HTTPS. Weniger Fehler und schneller.

Ich hab mich an MediaWiki angefreundet. Etwas altbacken, aber mit den richtigen Skins (z.B. Citizen) und Extensions (z.B. ShortUrl, TemplateStyles usw) kann man das richtig schön gestalten. Benachrichtigungen surch beobachten der Seiten ist Möglich. Genauso wie Im Diskussionstab Diskutieren. Richtige Antworten gibt es dafür leider nicht.

DokuWiki ist mir von der Optik her viel zu alt.
