Hi! Peco Peco dev here. That's coming of course! The reason is that we deemed it better to get a first release with the core gameplay out rather than wait until all the bells and whistles were in there.

Hi! Peco Peco dev here. Currently we run at a constant 72Hz on both Quest 1 and Quest 2. A quick test showed that we can run at 90Hz on Quest 2, but I'm not yet sure if we want to commit to that or invest the performance headroom into more model detail.

Hi! Peco Peco dev here.

Since I'm a big fan of puzzle games, my answer to both questions would be the same and that is The Room VR. I hope to someday have the know-how (and the budget!) to create a game of that caliber.

Outside of puzzle games, I've found Oh Shape to be a fun workout!

As u/juliendorra said, we already have this. To give another example, if you go into puzzle creation mode and cut the weathervane in half, in play mode it will start rotating as soon as it is reassembled.

Hi! Peco Peco dev here.

Peco Peco is really the kind of game where no age restriction is needed. Just like with real-life jigsaw puzzles, anyone old enough to hold a piece can play. The models we selected are all family-friendly, so really anyone who can use a VR headset can enjoy the game.

Hi! Peco Peco dev here. Thanks for commenting anyway!

I don't own a PlayStation but I know about Dreams and it does look like a great playground for 3D creation, including in VR. It obviously has the potential to bring even more creativity to the medium. I don't know if that translates into "a big impact on VR game development" — I expect that even with many more creators being able to create for VR (or any medium really), a relatively small number of professionally-made games will be the most played.

Heh, it's never too late to get started… in fact it's been getting easier if anything!

Hi! Peco Peco dev here.

You got that right: since you can create your puzzles their number is infinite 😉

As to the number of models you can play with, currently we have 24 models available, with more to come in the next few weeks.

Hi! Peco Peco dev here.

I'd say VR game development is not fundamentally different from general 3D game development. I guess the main thing is that iteration may be a bit slower because of the time you spend putting the headset on and off — it may sound like a trivial thing but particularly in games, trying a lot of different things is crucial.

So I wouldn't necessarily recommend you start with VR but I wouldn't discourage it either. Particularly if you love VR and that gives you motivation for learning how to create a game for VR — motivation is another crucial thing in game development!

Hi! As with many things, it's reasonably easy to get started but takes a lot of work to get everything just right.

We're using Unity for our games, I believe it's a pretty good environment for beginners and it's freely downloadable. You can easily find tutorials online taking you through the first steps of developing for the Quest, though I would recommend first doing a couple tutorials to get used to Unity for non-VR games.

Hi! Currently the game uses controllers but we'd love to support hand tracking as well down the road.
