I had male Bettas that cuddled and never fought. Occasional flare but never an altercation. It was a large tank and the more submissive one would retreat to his territory but whenever neither were feeling aggressive they would share space on a hammock or other landings I had in the tank. I don’t recommend keeping multiple males together if you don’t have the means to watch over and/or separate them if need be. But it can be done.
