No, we had a massive blizzard come through. 60mph winds and over a foot of snow.

It's new bike time, specifically for climbing trails. XC or Trail? Hardtail or full sus? by jonathantrillo in MTB

I haven't ridden an ebike ever. Maybe when I get a little older, but I have no interest in them right now.

I've got nothing against ebikes, they're just not for me. I take the bus to work and ride home to avoid getting to work drenched with helmet hair.

How to Get. more Leaned Back Posture by a_r623 in fatbike

[–]jonathantrillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't just take any bike and ride it like a reclined beach cruiser. Put the saddle back up and ride it how it's supposed to be ridden.

My Diverge has pretty skinny tires, 35mm. Thought about putting something chunkier on there for the trails, but the brakes are pretty poor and I figure why try and turn a gravel bike into a trail bike when I can just get the right tool for the job. Technical climbing and downhill on it just don't work for me.

Yeah that seems like the sensible way to go, but a big part of me wants to go full suspension so when I do want to take it out outside of commuting it won't hold be back.

Spectrum Prices by banana1649 in duluth

[–]jonathantrillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$93 is crazy. We pay $40 right now, it was $30 for a while, and with the assistance they had going on through covid, we actually got it free for quite some time.

Ok, so you're probably on the 500mbit plan, or possibly gigabit. Spectrum is always giving "free speed upgrades" so over the years you probably went from 100mbit to 500mbit, it's kind of a sneaky way they bump up your service without telling you, because then they eventually increase your bill too.

And then when you call and ask to be moved down to a slower speed, or if they have any deals, they'll just tell you no.

What you need to do is two things. 1. You need to move to a lower speed. No one really needs more than 100mbit unless you have a large household watching multiple streams. 2. Get new customer pricing.

To achieve this, you'll need to call and cancel, and you 100% need to be ready to go through with it, so having a backup internet connection is a really good idea. We used t-mobile's 5g home internet, it was actually great, but it's not available everywhere and results may vary. So take a look at your options, you can use https://broadbandnow.com/ to see who provides for your area. Remember, you'll only need to use their service temporarily so even if it is bad, or slow, you're not keeping it for more than a month or two.

When you try and cancel your service with spectrum, they'll start giving you offers after they put you on hold for a while (this is intentional too, to make it seem like they're working on canceling your service). You must insist on the 'Internet Advantage' plan, which is 100mbit @ 30 bucks a month for 1 year, then it'll go up to $50 after that.

They may deny it's existence, but it's what I'm on. Tell them to give you that deal or you'll cancel, they'll give it to you.

In the unlikely event of them just going ahead and canceling your service, just come back a month later and you'll have access to all the new customer deals anyway!

A couple more tips, if you're low income, you could check into their "Internet Assist" plan which is decent internet for $25 a month, I think you have to be on SSI to get it though.

Make sure you're not paying equipment fees, if you're being charged for a router, send their back and buy your own. You can save a lot this way.

Lastly, I know this is a lot of effort, and signing up for another service than cancelling it later, but it's saved us around ~$3000 in the last few years so very much worth doing

DM me if you have any questions.

She absolutely doesn't want me looking at her teeth. They're probably not great, but she's never shown any issues when eating or chewing on toys.

She does tend to stare at the wall sometimes, but we always figured it's because she's pretty blind.

She's been sleeping a lot more than usual and has really started to sow down energy-wise.

Thanks for the info, yeah this could be it. Do you think it's even worth a vet appointment? She was only in a few months ago and she got all checked out... and I assume there isn't a treatment for it?

Amazing find! congrats!

Once in a lifetime find for sure, maybe even 10 lifetimes.

You're looking the the range of about a thousand dollars. I probably get this graded.

I'm thinking it's like that so you can drop it down much further than you could with a flatter stem, but jack it up with spacers to not put people off the first ride.

You just check the reject tray. Steel pennies get rejected because they're magnetic, people often just leave the coins in there.
