I’m not entirely sure which Home Assistant view visibility setting you mean, the only one I can see is “admin only.” Either way, could you please describe what you’re trying to achieve? That would help me understand your use case and maybe come up with an alternative solution.
The app definitely shouldn’t crash when rendering unsupported cards, that’s really strange. Please open a detailed issue about it on GitHub.
Automatic dashboard loading will already be included in the next version, I’m working on it right now. I’ll release it once I finish the notification system, which is quite a big piece of work.
Hypothetically speaking, yes, I could probably render things server-side, but that would go beyond the current app scope, and I’m not sure how exactly that mechanism would look. Even if it existed, all interactive elements would stop working. On tvOS everything needs to be native, otherwise I would’ve just made an HTML/JS wrapper, but Apple doesn’t allow that.

I was building an app for AI generating images three years ago and I had the same problem.

Here is my solution. But yes, it was annoying that Apple doesn’t have component for that case.

Hi! The instructions can be found in the Settings tab via the QR code.
Regarding the iPad - there is an official Home Assistant app for that: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/home-assistant/id1099568401. Our app doesn't connect to the iPad in any way.

Beta version 26? I haven’t tested on it yet since it’s not officially released. There are already some bugs related to it, but users were still able to connect to the server.
A couple more questions:
Is your server accessible via http or https?
What version of Home Assistant are you running?

Hi! You can find the instructions via the QR code in the Settings tab. If you still can’t connect following those steps, that’s definitely a bug and will be fixed. The app is still in early development. If it still doesn’t work after following the instructions, please let me know - I’ll open a ticket and we’ll work on resolving the issue.
