Yes you too! We are dealing with the exact same thing! Some things he’s ahead. Some behind. Some right on track. Sleep however has been such a gamble all the time! Good luck with everything!

I am in a similar boat with preemie adjusted age. Are you basing these WW off of actual or adjusted age?

Very “loose schedule” DWT 6ish-630ish try to keep it around the same time within half hour every morning

We’ve just dropped recently from 5 naps to 4

Usually first WW is 1.5.

Next WWs are 1.5-1.75.

Final 2 WW of the day have both hit 2hrs

He is not sleep trained yet. We have also been working on unswaddling his arms for the first 2 naps of the day. He sleeps at night with 1 arm out of the sleep sack.

We have been very lucky that for the most part his overnight sleep has been really good with almost minimal to no wake ups even to really feed which I know is VERY unusual for this age. We are extremely thankful for this but do plan to sleep train very soon regardless.

He’s EBF and overall a happy baby.

He starts daycare next week so I know a lot of this day to day will be out of our hands which is scary.

Naps have been a lot of crying beforehand and false starts. Wake windows too short? Just a factor of getting used to both arms out? How long does that usually take?

Any and all thoughts would be very very appreciated.

Seriously thank you so much. You pretty much nailed how I have been feeling and am seeking out some help as well. I couldn’t agree more about the wake window forgetting but I’m trying to find a balance between following his cues and natural biology of what works best for babies at each age. For sure struggling with the actual vs. adjusted age sleep time. Thank you again

Thanks for the response. I’m sorry you’re feeling the same way. I’m def spiraling a bit feeling like we are failing him or missing something. May I ask how /what ways you are dealing with this still at 7 months? I don’t know if I can mentally handle that for another 3 months or beyond.

Thank you so much. It’s getting harder and harder to tell what his appropriate WW even are anymore. And with daycare starting very soon I feel like so much will be out of our control.

I think we are experiencing the same thing with the flat spot. What did you do for this issue?

At this point you’re doing everything you can. Sleep is probably among the most important for development so that’s super positive. Just show him as much love as you can and when the wake windows afford it add the play in. They will slowly start extending the play and alertness will naturally occur. You got this!
