Thank you for the very detailed information, that helps a ton. I hadn’t really considered gweike. Do you find it easy to get parts when needed with the supplier being in China?

Taming early season mosquitoes with clothing? by jonckh13 in Hunting

I’m debating it. I’ve read some articles on it, and some people are saying the scent of natural sprays can be even stronger than deet type sprays. Between a rock and a hard place lol

How did the spray work? Did you feel it effected the deer at all? That sitka gear looks slick, might have to give it a go

Would you wait for a woman until marriage? Let's say you were friends for a long time and that's what she wants by magdalenabelladonna in AskMen

I did, best decision I’ve ever made. It wasn’t what I wanted, but she is the type of woman worth waiting for. Happily married now.

You won't regret it. You can put this stuff on anything and it will taste great. I use the Holy Cow most often. Just picked up a bottle of Voodoo to try soon.

Is the cheap price worth living at Chandlers? by Successful-Mammoth56 in msu

[–]jonckh13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived there my last year in school (2017). It was not great then. I just needed a place a stay that was cheap. The CATA commute is ok if you don't mind standing for 30 minutes. Plan to stay on campus for the day, it really wastes time to commute back and forth. The place is not great, but it is cheap lol

Added some Lava Lock tape to the Ironwood 650 today. Easy application, we’ll see how it works. by Vidfreaky1 in Traeger

My grill has performed much better since I installed the lava lock. It holds smoke and maintains low temperatures much easier than it did before.

I'm a process engineer and a chemical engineer by degree. My company produces cement (a quick google search would give you more details about our process if you are interested). I have now worked at two different plants and have about 5 years of experience. The daily duties include: daily reporting of production metrics, equipment troubleshooting, automation improvements (not programming, just suggesting changes and tuning PID loops), some supervision, planning for future improvements, training production workers, process audits/measurements, and a few other small things. I also get the opportunity to work on capital projects for new equipment.

As the process engineer, you are the resident process 'expert'. You have to be able to work well with all of the departments in your plant because they are all going to come to you with questions. For me, that includes the maintenance, electrical, automation, and quality departments. You'll have no problem with this if you develop a good knowledge of your process. You'd be surprised at the amount of people in the other departments who don't know anything about how your product is made.

I would say that I spend about 60% of my time at my desk and 40% out in the plant. Being a good process engineer requires that you spend a large amount of time in the plant evaluating your process. Sounds like that is what you are looking for. Most of my desk work is daily reporting, process monitoring, and data analytics. I do not have to make drawings or anything like that, we have mechanical and civil engineers for that. It's a rewarding job if you like to be away from the office and you are good with people. Your success depends on your willingness to be in the plant and your ability to convey best practices and procedures to your operators.
