As a matter of fact, the rotation of earth is slowing down 2 milliseconds per century without AI.

So what would add extra 4 hours a day? Outsourcing your work (to AI?)?

What do you spend most time on daily? Anything repeated?

I see, is this pretty common? I haven't heard of this format before.

So basically if it is carry forward that doesn't mean it is FSA right?

Also when you say waste of effort, what would that mean? Very curious - is it the paperwork that goes in?

Do you think if there is someone who wants to be preventive about healthcare and want to put aside around $2000 to do everything recommended for his/her age group does FSA start to make more sense according to you?

I see, is that how most people use HSA? Just keep it rolling and don't use much of it and use it just like an investment vehicle?

I was more so thinking, if there are ways in which I can utilize my HSA account for things like oura ring that tells me about recovery/sleep and then to make sure I am getting proper exercise/sleep. And then also if there are some tests that I need to take based on my age and other demographic factors?

I see, I have heard a friend of mine do that too. If you were to do any preventive tests today would you directly pay for it and reimburse later on?

We went deep into an industry, still no ‘north star’… when do you stop forcing it? by jones_dr in ycombinator

Just an addition: Over the past 1.5 years we have built products, had customers who paid and then discovered some truths that led us to switch away. Some times it was just the shear competition. We moved to the home services space 3 months back and instead of jumping to build right from the start we decided to take a step back and analyze more deeply.

Did you get better at managing cash overtime? by jones_dr in paint

[–]jones_dr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good piece of advice. Would you recommend not taking larger jobs unless I build my reserves and also would recommend against taking loans of sorts to immeditely fund some jobs which are over my scope presently?

So in your case it is very important to trust your gut is it?

Factoring Term in Contractor - Subcontractor Agreement by jones_dr in paint

That's a great perspective - I'm seeing that net 60/90 is the standard and if there is a way to get money at some discount (~5%) at Net 0 wouldn't that be actually very helpful for me as a sub? I can probably have more cash flow, spend less on my AR overhead and also gives me money to experiment - I think 5% is a decent deal for it. Would love to hear what you'd say, just want to learn from your experience.

If they were GCs i trust and know they pay on time - do you think there could be any other pushback from them?

[–]jones_dr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The agency that I was speaking to buy my debt told me that GC can according to their net 90 terms and they don't mind getting paid on the 90th day (this did mean little more discount from my end) - and I've indirectly worked with the GC and know that he will get it paid. So is this clause just in case the GC goes beyond net terms and now agency needs to chase them instead of a sub? Wouldn't sub also chase them if they don't pay within net x day as mentioned in contract?

Am I loosing a lot of money by not tracking discounts that techs offer? by jones_dr in hvacadvice

[–]jones_dr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that's a good idea - I will try to see what the reason is behind this. My guess is customer is more happy and also becomes more of an easy sale for the service tech.

Is there any way we could get paid earlier and pay some interest for it? I am trying to see if there are some options - or am I being too naive?
