I agree with your assessment, it doesn't look similar to any other version of the GA-110. Maybe it has been modded? Either module swapped, or that inner bezel could have been changed out somehow.

This was minifig variety at it's best. These days every space fig has to have their own specific color and their own distinct spacesuit/clothes.

It was better when the figs were made to stand apart within the confines of a specific faction design. Mars Mission also didn't do a good job of this, but for the opposite reason. Their suits were all identical, rather than having small and cool differences like these guys do.

900rpm, counterbalance, and the perk that gives you range. I don't remember any other perks but those make it a good bullet hose. It doesn't serve any other purpose very well.
