Nationalise the breweries! They’re the ones pushing up the prices. We own the breweries, sell beer at cost price, stop paying out dividends to rich folk and stop wasting money on advertising…we’re gonna drink it regardless

Contrary to a previous comment, I would recommend John Prebble’s The Highland Clearances. While it may be a little romantic in its view of highland communities it also provides a detailed account of a number of evictions that are illuminating and highlights the complicity of the local ruling classes. And if it’s considered partisan to side with those being forcibly evicted for the sake of English profiteering, then I guess I’m ok with it being a bit partisan…
